What is the current on the negative wire of speaker cable when the amplifier outputs 35W RMS per channel to a pair of 8ohm wired using a common negative?

Power = 35 watts
Impedance (resistance ) = 8 ohms

Power = current X voltage
Voltage = current X resistance

So Power = resistance x current squared

35 watts = 8 ohms x current squared

current = square roof of 35 watts divided by 8 ohms
current = 4.375 amps
however since you have a common negative, 4.375 x 2 = 8.75 amps

Your ampifier may has Bridge terminal for speaker.
