If the brake fluid point is wonderful then gently spray some silicon oil into the standards of the hand brake ratchet the place the swap for the brake caution easy is located to scrub any grime construct up off. it is ordinarily offered from maximum automobile upload-ons shops or on line. connect the straw which would be blanketed so as you may spray straight away into the depths of the ratchet and not over the carpet. Pull the hand brake up and down a number of circumstances to artwork the oil in and with a bit of luck this could resolve your concern.

I would start by looking at your brake fluid as well.

But from there I would check the handbrake switch that sets it off sometimes these go bad, sometimes you can wiggle the handbrake to make them go off for a second if it does then replace it.

From there you might actually have a real brake problem, you must take it in that last thing you want is for your brakes to actually fail while your driving.

If it is the h/brake light that is coming on then all it is,is a faulty switch, nothing to worry about....However if it is the normal brake warning light coming on then you need to have it looked at, if you know nothing about cars, get it checked out by a professional as it could be several different things...

make sure theres nothing under your hand brake when you have let it of as there is a switch on the floor if there is a box of matches or some thing small like that it will be on the switch and the light wont go off.

check the switch at the base of the handle ,it might need adjustment. You might have to remove rubber boot and switch is fairly easy to get at and adjust. It might of been moved when test was performed. Also check emergency brake cable to make sure it is not seased.Handle will release but cable might still have tension on it.

sorry - don't know what an MOT is

check the fluid in your master cylinder - make sure the top is on correctly -

if all is well - and light still on - may have to bleed your brakes - may be air in the line - OR

your master cylinder may be failing

it could be the weather or you didn't push the handbrake right down
