How can I lose weight? I'm fat, and would like to change that. My mom says I'm too young to worry about my weight, but I just hate being the fattest kid in the choir, my batch of friends, and my grade, and a lot of pretty clothes can't fit me. I've started eating more vegetables, and I exercise for thirty minutes every night with my cousin, but so far nothing's changed. I've stopped eating junkfood and high-sugar foods, plus I walk to and from school everyday. I even do the small things like tapping my feet when I'm waiting for someone, etc, but I haven't lost half a pound. HELP!!!!!

I've also started eating mostly tea or fruits for my snacks instead of candy bars and potato chips, etc. So if that's your suggestion, it doesn't work for me..

I try to eat as much veggies as I can, but I eat mostly fruits since it's always available, and according to three health books I've read, fruits do contain sugar that can satisfy your taste buds, but the sugar in the fruits do not make you put on weight. I did not gain any weight after I started eating lots of fruits daily.

OK, It seams like you are committed and are willing to change you way of life!?! To begin with, it can take a while for some to begin losing weight after a change in the diet. So don't give up!
From my own experience I can tell you that different types of diets fits different types of persons since we're different. I used to be an athlete with high ambition, and at a point in my career I put on 5 kilo without a reason, I thought. So when a friend told me to stop eating pasta and everything containing sugar, I did, and has since then only eaten pasta 3-5 times a year(used to eat it 5-7 time a week, or more!). In 5 weeks time I lost 5 kilos and felt much more alert. It didn't only affect my performance, but also how I felt at any time of the day. My thinking got quicker, also:).
I think that you are on the right way! It's just, as I said, for some it takes a little longer before one can see any result, so be patient. I think that your exercise level should be enough and help you on the way. keep up the good work and you will get there.

Yes, the sugar in fruits are different, however, as with any thing, if you eat to much fruit you will not lose any wait either. It doesn't matter how healthy the food we eat are if we eat more than we need. When we have eaten more than we need the body will transform the abundance into fat.
An other important thing, that is often neglected is the importance of a good breakfast. If we skip or don't eat a good breakfast we tend to eat candy, cookies and all other that are not good for the health in between meals. Also by eating in between meals we disrupt the bodies normal metabolism. Finally, when waking up in the morning there should be a feeling of hunger. If waking up and don't feel hungry we had too much to eat the night before. In fact, there are no reason for us to eat much in the evening, since it is the low activity period of the day and we therefore don't need too much energy.

Many times boys and girls lose weight as they go through puberty. Your body will change in a lot of ways and that takes a lot energy (stored fat). Ask your parents about their weight at your age. They may have been chubby too and grew out of it. If everyone in the family's big, you may be fighting a genetic battle that can only be one with patience. Keep up the excercise and low cal eating. You'll get there.

I think you are doing the right way, be patient and do not try to eat large quantities of food; you can measure your portions, one portion is only the amount you can hold Whit one had... that's it no more.
If you read books, you know that you must eat 5 times a day, and have a balanced diet and no meal after 7 pm, 2 liters of water.
Could be a good idea to visit a doctor or a nutriologist, just to be sure everything is ok!!

Well, if you're not losing weight it probably means your gaining strength, not weight. Muscle weighs more than fat, so just remember that. And if someone teases you, just show off a bicep or two. The best way to see if you're actually gaining weight is to look at your stomach. It's what I do. But don't go anorexic!

I was a 55 kg beast and now im 35kg. IMPRESSIVE!!! Listen I watch wrestling (WWE & WCW) i run up and down the stairs all day and jump around my parents king size bed. I kept it going for a month and it worked. NEVER TRY THE TREADMILL DOES NOT WORK FAST. Go to the yard and play ball or somethin'. I get bashed to much my my 5 bro's and we are all fit. Eat Veges not friut ( contains sugar ) after a month of devastation for fat 'n' sugar i can eat KFC all the time now and i dont get fat again. Ur in choir right? U sure must have a deep and huge voice hehehe.... im 12 u know...

if you HONESTLY have done all of that to try and lose weight, & NOTHINGS working, maybe you should go to the doctor because you might have a problem with your thyroid. (it either makes you REALLY fat, or REALLY skinny) Unfortunately you got off on the wrong side with that one. Check with your dr. okay?? Good luck... oh yeah, by the way, Men like us thicky-thick women!! bones are for DOGS! haha! BYE

first at your age you should not seek advice from some random crazy people on yahoo and second you need to talk to adults that love and care for you, not some random people here who either have something to sell or dont even know you. Eat well and exercise, it will come off.

Fruit instead of candy bars. Brilliant idea! Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. See site below.
