because they are strongly bonded with you and they want you to smell good to them My Tiel checks my teeth and ears on a regular basis. she also gives kisses when asked and rests her beak inside my ear. Be happy she loves you, and try to keep her off by getting her to step up onto your hand if it bothers you and put her on your shoulder

My hair is pretty long, it goes down about 4 inches past my bra strap. My birds play in it. They wrap themselves up in it, they preen it, and they hide the toys they are playing with in it.

It's natural. He feels comfortable enough with you that he is able to play in your hair. This is a good thing!

its a sign of affection; (not just a bathing thing) true birds will Preen themselves to clean themselves but they will also preen their mate whether it be you or another bird as a sign of saying they love you.

If you mean it runs your hair through its beak as if it were grooming you, thats exactly what its doing. they like to play with hair and groom you hair. mine also trying to clean inside my ears and between my teeth.

not familiar with Cocateil's, but with other animals its a way to mark you with their scent and them with yours to tell other animals you belong to them etc.
