"a part" of. Well, researching an earlier question, I read that the Assemblies of God are an off-shoot of the Holiness Movement. However, not everything you read from Wikipedia is authoritative that's for sure. I've found lots of bias' and errors there. Holiness people came from all different denominations and/or lack of both organized and those like the Plymouth Brethren. The Holiness movement is often confused with the Charismatic movement in history and in the present day. It's hard to say whether Holiness sprang out of all those denominations or if other denominations sprang off from Holiness. Cause and effect you know! Holiness has Methodist roots but really Holiness is not a movement as much as it is a lifestyle of Biblical teaching and holy living straight from the Word of God. So, Holiness and Pentecost has always been around since the time of the Apostles just maybe not in great numbers so the world would note. One article says Pentecostalism (?) is the offshoot of Holiness. I think that is a worldier version with not much difference in core doctrines. I'll have to brush up on my studies here again as it's been a while.

I'd say that the Methodists were certainly a part of it. There were also other groups that came from it, like the various Pentecostal denominations, the Wesleyans, and the Church of the Nazarene. Some people would put the Salvation Army in the Holiness group, as well.
