Hi there...it could possibly be worms (intestinal parasites), however there are so many types of intestinal worms that if you could save a sample and bring this in with a fresh fecal sample the veterinary clinic can examine them further to determine which type of worm in order to prescribe the proper dewormer.

Sometimes kitties are born with worms, it is best to have worms treated by the vet. It is cheap to treat. Cats can get worms just by a crumb you bring in on your shoe that you can't even see. If this is tape worms, right after he poops, lift his tail and look and you may see if a little rice thing goes right back into the butt. Hpwever, there is many types of worms that you cannot see and can only be detected by the vet. Years ago my cat had round worms and I did not know it until I saw blood in the stool. The blood was caused by the worms eating at his intestines. He looked healthy and great, but those parasites can hide themselves well.

funny you ask that. cats are born with parasites and worms and of course, if you dont deworm them, it may become harmful. now if the gooey things look like rice, they are called tapeworms. i just brought my cat to the vet just today because she has them..and they are not dangerous. they only eat the nutritions that cats consume. so the cat can be hungry all the time because they don't get food, it all goes to the tapeworms. your cat will be ok, but you need to bring it to the vet. it's not expensive...probably 40 dollars tops. it cost 44 dollars today for an exam, a shot and a pill that kills all the worms in their body so they won't get them back. but you need to call them right away. your cat will be just fine in no time.
ps there is no over the counter medicine for tapeworms so you need to go to the vet.
good luck

Most cats are born with worms. You need to get him dewormed usually when you get them. If he's eating fine and not losing any weight it may just be nothing. Send a stool sample to your vet and they'll check it. My best friend is a vet tech and i have 3 cats myself so i'm used to hearing about this. and cats don't necessarily get worms from being outside. they get them from certain things they eat too...such as milk. if you've been giving him milk or things containing it, its most likely worms. If you want to give him pet friendly milk that won't give him worms try Cat Sips. I think Whiskas makes it. it looks kinda gross, sorta like chocolate milk but they like it. And its good for them.

Yeah, you definitely need a stool sample checked. Make sure he doesn't have fleas as well, as they are the carrier for one type of worms. But please DO NOT give GARLIC, the other answer was correct in saying that this is very dangerous to cats, and over time can be fatal.

When i see worms, i use a bit of garlic salt mixed VERY well with wet cat food.
Might sound crazy, but it has always worked. Just don't overdo it though.
Takes a few days, but no more worms.
If that doesn;t work, which it always has..i would then move onto a commercial worming product.

Do you deworm and vaccine your cat regularly as prescribed by your local vet? if No, please bring your cat Hustler to your trusted vet and ask them to check for you.
