I once watched a documentary saying that some pharmacists cheat when giving out tablets (mostly anti-depressants). I had a prescription yesterday for 120 capsules and my pharmacist said that they can't give me all of them, as they don't have anymore. One was an original pack and another was a mixed box of capsules of different brands. On this box it says 45 capsules, but indeed there are only 32 in it.
I counted the several times, even added the 3 I took. I hope that this is just a mistake, but what do you think?

I checked again, and all in all they gave me 62 capsules and on the form it says that they now owe me 45, but it should be 58. As soon as they open I will be there and also tell my doctor about it.

Report the miscount to the pharmacy where you got it. If that does not work or if they show little concern, report it to your local government (weights and measures).

It is a pharmacists job to ensure proper type and quantity filled in any prescription. They should not be off by a single pill, as it can be a serious problem. I would also be wary of a pharmacist mixing different brands together. You seriously should confront them and consider going to a different pharmacy.

You're doing the right thing and I wish more people did.Get in there and complain.

I would imagine it is a genuine mistake that the pharmacist assumed the box was full up and didn't realise it had been broken into. After all, most pharmacies have a number of pharmacists working there all the time so they won't always know exactly what is there.

As you are most probably paying for your prescription, I would challenge the pharmacist. Also make sure you get all that was prescribed.

They should have given you a I O U form, for you to pick the rest up when in stock

Yes its quite common
go straight back to your GP who will keep a record of what you have been given so if it happens next time action will be taken.
