Yes of course. But we also learned that that teaching was wrong. And that's why we no longer accept it today.
We are not redesigning our faith, we are gaining further accurate knowledge. Our knowledge grows brighter as this wicked world draws to its end. (Cross: Jesus did not die on a cross. He died on a pole, or a stake. The Greek word translated "cross" in many Bibles meant just one piece of timber. The symbol of the cross comes from ancient false religions. The cross was not used or worshiped by the early Christians. Therefore, do you think it would be right to use a cross in worship?—Deuteronomy 7:26; 1 Corinthians 10:14)

Not a JW, but There has been lots of religions that are changing their beliefs. For instance, few are learning the truth about where Christmas actually originated from. After finding truth out, why wouldn't one want to change their old beliefs and come into the new knowledge of God. Doesn't Jesus say that his true followers would be as scattered sheep for a while, then come together again? One thing I can say about JW's....They believe in what they are teaching whole hearted and they study to no end. And their organization is like no other church. They are all in union as one. They don't break off and start a whole new churh, look at how many different Baptist there are(no offense) If you don't obey the bible, not their rules but God's rules then you will be disfellowshipped. The bible tells us that we need to search for truth as we would search for hidden treasures. God wants us to gain knowledge of him by digging and searching. What makes a religion really bad, is that after finding out what the truth really is and then keep on doing it. (like the celebration of christmas)
Now just watch the thumbs down come!!!

I'm waiting to see the answers!
I wonder if some churches evolve into something that doesn't look like the original church because they leave the basic beliefs taught in the Bible or begin to focus on one verse that becomes their center and gradually they are taken away to something very, very different.
Added: The celebration of Thanksgiving is a thumbs down with our JW friends. Christmas is not celebrated because it has a heathen origin. What about the days of the week? I believe the names have a heathen origin. If you follow this train of thinking, you would say, 1st day, 2nd day, etc.
The more crucial fact about the beliefs of the JWs is that Jesus is not God, but relagated, "only" the Son of God. Therefore, it is believed that we would not pray to Jesus the Son of God nor worship Him.
Yet, Acts says, in 2:36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
The bottom line is to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to deliver us from evil. Evil is that which cheats us from knowing, enjoying, and experiencing God in Christ Jesus.

Yes, there are photos of it on the web site as well as in the history book of the witnesses.
Not redesigning, but learning. Tens of thousands of International Bible Students, later to be called Jehovah's Witnesses, were reading the King James and sending in their ideas. IT took time to learn and leave behind those things not in keeping with the Bible. To bad the other churches don't do the same thing. Instead, they continue to drift away from the Bible, like adopting the beliefs of Evolution.

Yes, they even had stick pins for their lapels that were a cross and a shield.
All witnesses carried 'address books' to keep in touch with fellow witnesses and to send them christmas cards.
Why I would I want to be in a religion that didn't admit it's mistakes?
Why I would I want to be in a religion that isn't continuing to learn from the bible.
Martin Luther said the end was coming in his day.
Billy Graham said the end would come in the 1950's.
True Christians are always on the watch.
Paul in 2 Thess. corrected the wrong views 'anointed spirit begotten' Christians had in his day.
King David was a murder and an adulterous man.
Let's throw all this words out of the bible.
Apostle Paul, approved of killing Christians,
Let's throw his words out of the bible.
Jonah, went in the wrong direction after Jehovah commanded him to go to Nineveh.
Let's throw out his book from the bible.
When Jehovah didn't destroy Ninevah, after Jonah said he would, we only have Jonah's word for it that Jehovah changed his mind.
Moses tried to save the nation of Israel 40 years before it was Jehovah's time.
Let's throw the words of Moses out of the bible.
If these inspired writers of the bible made mistakes, why are you suprised with imperfect people, who never claimed to be inspired, need to be corrected?
edit to Linda ------
Notice what the Jews accused Jesus of:
John 10:36 do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?
Jehovah's Witnesses are accused of blaspheme when we say Jesus is 'God's Son'
seems funny to me.

To answer yes they know, there was W/T articles on that very topic many times. Do they,"as in any church" have the holy Ghost, that is the main thing here, nothing else matters.
