Personally, I practice Buddhism and I am an agnostic. I feel that if a God does exist, he is so selfless that he doesn't want any worship. Only evil people want to be worshipped. God doesn't have an ego since he is the highest of holiness. I think the only thing he wants is to be loved and for us to behave on this planet. I think his demands are simple that doesn't require special rituals or excessive bowing. He just wants us to behave. But then again, this is speaking on the assumption that a God does exist. I have clearly stated that I am agnostic. Even for you atheist, this is quite a fictional thing to ponder.

Let me say that Buddhism doesn't tell you to believe in God or not. Buddhism simply doesn't address the issue of God. If you want to be an atheist, agnostic, or a theist, then that is fine. Buddhism is only concerned with the ending of suffering and theological issues are outside of Buddhism.

Yes, God does exist, and he does want to be worshipped, and in the Bible it says He is a "Jealous God" and that the "Fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom".

Be wise.

God is not going to show his face to you .because you don't believe in him.that is not what he is about.you are to believe in him and that he really does exist and you read his ward and grow through him by reading the Bible and living your life for him and him only Yes he is a jealous God you are to worship no other God or an Dial.what you don't understand is that the Devil will do allot of believable things on earth that you can see and that's what the lost people want to see.but the Lord dint work that way it's trusting and believing in him. God Bless!

I concur, any God that demands worship isn't worthy of it.

Now, I'm a polytheist and I do honor certain Gods and Goddess, but never bowing down in submission or anything of that nature. I treat them with respect as I would a family member or a dear friend. The Gods don't care one way or the other if you worship them or not, in fact they do not like groveling.

This is an excellent question by the way.

Yes God wants to be worshiped, but only out of love. It is health and for our own good to worship our creator.

The reason evil people want to be worshiped is they want to be a god them self. They want to impersonate God. That is almost the definition of evil.

It is not evil for the true God to want worship from his creation because He is in fact God and not an impersonation.

You're right! God wants to be loved because he loves all his creatures and He paid a dear price to rescue them from evil. When you love someone you do what pleases them so if you love God you will worship him Maybe you don't like the word worship so lets say honour him or better still Love him as he wishes to be loved and be ready to accept his love.

Even atheist know the differnce between fiction and fantasy ...
God is the latter. and just for sake of "iffy" a god who created all would not hardly want to return to it like a regurgitated swallow.
I think worship would insult most creators.
peace out

yeah, don't look to the bible for an accurate depiction of god. The real god is above such human fallacies as "jealousy" and "wrath"
I think the safest bet is to just live a fulfilling life with good intent. Not much more to ask. Simple as that.

I bet you people will tell you something like 'I would voluntarily worship someone like that. If God wants me to be happy, worshiping God makes me happy, so I'll do it.' It's a religion. Not to be taken like a logic puzzle.

No, I don't think God want to be worshipped, that's propaganda of religions. I too, believe God exists but I don't believe in any religion.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
