If you don't floss then start now. If you cannot use floss then use tepe brushes inbetween teeth. Using a chlorhexadine mouthwash, such as corsodyl will help with any gum infection you may have, do not use this for a long period of time as it can stain teeth.

There are a lot of websites which will suggest good remedies, try www.webmd.com
A few tips:
1. Check for deficiency of Vitamin C
2. Use flauss at least once a week
3. Use a floride toothpaste
4. Gargle after every meal
5. Keep your tongue clean
6. Use listerine & gargle
7. You can also try applying a clove oil on your gums

However it doesn't mean that you should avoid going to a doctor. In fact even your GP can also give some suggesttions

It's best for you to see a Dentist anytime sooner.
Some decay are not eyes visible. They are located by using an explorer further more what you are encountering now might be due to gum infection.

Early signs of peridontal disease. Either floss regularly(sucks!), or when you're brushing just go over your gums a lot. It will bleed for the first few days, but if you regularly do this, the gums get tougher and won't bleed. Also, mouthwash cleans the gums well and also stops the bleeding after brushing.

Get to a dentist immediately. It could be something that could mean you lose all your teeth. Still, then you wouldn't have to go to a dentist...

It sounds like gingivitis. Use monthwash for a few days, and if it dosen't go away, you need to be treated for it. Its just an infection, and the mouthwash should take care of it. Use listerine.

Or you could have scurvy.. i doubt that, but that is a warning sign of scurvy! (ARR matey!)

could be gingivitus. You need to see a dentist..or you could lose all your teeth.

Or it could be more serious.

Take care of your health..or it will take care of you.

Good Luck!
