we are lazy ,love to eat ,dont like to exercise and well ..you see a lot of people that are obese because of bad eating habits. also you see alot of people that are obese because they are poor..fast food is cheap and so are things that make you fat .. potatoes and pizza and chips and snacks and things when people are hungry and they can buy these kind of foods cheaply other than healthy foods they will and when you are hungry you tend to gorge on them.. and then there are people that turn to food as a release and then there are just some that have genetics that increases their ability to be larger.. so there is a lot of blame everywhere but many people are happy being larger and in some instances are healthier

The culture. Clearly we have strived to make things more convenient for ourselves. The industry provides it and consumers buy it. We just live too good of a life that we take for granted. If we as a whole nation were grateful for a decent living, good education, etc... we'd be in a better position. But we're not. We'd all rather sit and watch tv and eat at the same time(very bad). Families have gotten colder, lack of proper parenting results in fast food than home cooked meals eaten together. It's just so much easier to go in a drive-thru than cook. We're doing too much. Too busy, not enough time to appreciate things. Also a lot of that time is wasted on utterly useless things like tv and video games.
Basically it's a combination of many factors. Improving tv technology, streamlining the fast food industry, a higher standard of living, etc...

I think both are to blame. In our hectic lives we need to eat on the go and the only food that's available on the go isn't exactly too healthy. Food chains should make healthy food more available in a quick, convenient fashion. However consumers are also to blame just as much. We could hit Mc.Donalds and grab that quarter pounder and fries on our lunch break or take 2 extra minutes and hit the local bakery and pick up a bagel and some yogurt. We choose convenience over health.

The consumers. The industry isn't putting the food in your mouth or saying you must eat McDonalds' everyday. There is so much education on eating healthy and exercise. The fast food companies are in business still because people keep coming back for more.

I blame both! The industry for introducing toxic growth hormone, chemically enhanced food, which is addictive, and the consumer for staying blissfully ignorant as to what is in the commercial food supply. A little research may change the way you think about food-it certainly did for me. There are so many toxic things in our food, it is no wonder everyone has illness. In my case, I went from being bedbound with chronic illness, to being healthy and vital-just by making better food choices........

Both the industries and the consumers.

Fast food advertising, large servings for what appears to be cheaply priced food (the bigger you enlarge the meal to, the better value it is, for example to change a meal from a small to a medium there is a certain price increase but to further enlarge the meal to a large there isn't a greater price difference). For example to enlarge from a small to a large it is $1.50 but to enlarge from a medium to a large it is only an extra $1.00 (made up examples). Most consumers would go for the better value deal.

Industry has been around for a long time and people have only been getting fat, lately. I blame it on lifestyle and more over on the general living conditions. People have work all day at jobs that don't allow them to move around too much. Kids gym classes aren't what they used to be. Kids don't go out to play anymore, people living in fear that their kids will get abducted.People just aren't as active as they were. But some people its a metabolism thing too. Their bodies simply can't burn off as much as others. And then their is this whole you've gotta be thin to be attractive thing too. Its getting pushed onto people. Way back in the day there wasn't this , you HAVE to be thin to be attractive thing. There wasn't all this media pushing it.

I don't think it has anything to do with the industry. They are just selling what people want. I believe it deals with America's obsession with money. We work more hours and spend less time doing activities with our family outside of our homes, which teaches our children it's okay to be fat as long as you make a good salary!

I think it's just about everyones fault. Industries (McDonalds, Burger King etc.) provides it, the consumer, eats it.

The consumer, we don't do anything anylonger just sit here and peck at the computer, don't walk get more food for less money, we don't walk anywhere, we use tools and time saving devices. We are a country that has more diet food then any other country and we are the fatest country in the world.
