wait til about 6 months...then get him neutered....it will help him be not so territorial plus he won't be wondering around looking for girlfriends...it should cost anywhere from 50-75 dollars.

I'm not sure when is the right time, but it's your duty as a pet owner (and most likely dog lover) to neuter your pit bull. I do know it's supposed to help any male dog be less aggressive because it's supposed to ease sexual frustration for them.
Also, there are enough dogs in the world--just visit any shelter or pound. I wish there were just more adoptions of those dogs. HOWEVER, if you get your dog neutered, you'll increase the chances of someone adopting. Think of it this way...if your dog gets a female one pregnant and she has 3 puppies, someone's gotta figure out what to do with those dogs. So, they'll either give them up to a shelter (which will increase the overpopulation) or they'll sell them to someone who could alternatively adopt a puppy.
Good luck!

I believe ages 4-6 months is the best time. It WILL make him more calm and less likely to run away (after the girls of course!) Most vets charge around $120-150 I think. Thats what it was when I got my dog fixed about 4 years ago. It took him about that long to learn to behave too. Good luck!

Definitely. It will take away a lot of that pit bull agression. I think around 5 or 6 months is a good time to have it done.

Neutering at a young age will definitely help with aggresion and dominance, and for best results should be done by 6 months of age. But you also need a good training program to ensure obedience. I applaud you for doing the right thing and neutering him!

It is a very good idea to alter him. It will help make him a better companion, and a healthier one.
Talk to your vet about specifics, they may want you to wait until he is a few months older and they will be able to tell you about the cost.
Or call the local humane society and they will be able to give you information on both and help you find a vet who offers low-cost neutering if cost is an issue.
Enjoy your pup!

you need to wait until at least 4 months. i highly recommend you neuter him. he will be less aggressive which will mean better obedience. i love pit bull i myself have a full bred red nose female and i spayed her are 4 months, so this is not an anti-pit bull response. as a responsible pet owner pit bull or not the right thing to do is spay or neuter your pet. take a trip down to your local animal shelter and you will see why. good luck

YES! You can do it as soon as 4 mos of age.
If your dog is neutered he'll be much calmer and will be more focused as he won't be thinking about mating all the time.

He should be neutered by 6 months.
Statistically, unneutered dogs are the biggest threats in biting incidents.

I dont think its an owner's "duty" to clip off their animal's reproductive organs. My pit hasnt been clipped, hes 4 yrs old, and is calmer than hell. He loves people and plays around children all the time..is gentle as hell. I look at it as...would you want your balls chopped off or your tubes tied? that's crap.
