Try the DNR of those states.

For the entire US - perhaps the department of agriculture.

The estimates will be just that - they're reclusive and great breeders, which is why the general attitude is when you see one - shoot it.

I suggested the USDA, due to the farm damage caused.

Mickey gave good information. No one knows for sure how many feral hogs reside in Missouri. But, we hope the population decreases every day. They are a problem here. I have never hunted them but their numbers are most abundant in the Mark Twain National Forest area and the surrounding land.

If individual states could give you a map of where feral hogs are at they would create a special season to destroy them.

Basically you need to do your own research anyway. Asking questions like "where the hogs at?" makes you sound like a city boy and no real hog hunters or southern outdoorsmen will give city boys much help.

I don't remember where I saw it, but doing a search for wild hog hunting should find it. it was a map of the US showing the spread of feral hogs. I believe there was a density rating also. you can also try the state game commisions. the last survey I saw showed wild hogs in all but a few states nation wide. hope this helps.

I don't know about a map, but recently I read an article in HOUSTON PRESS about how feral hogs are reaching epidemic proportions in South Texas. Last weekend I met a Man in Falfurrias who traps them. Few years back you would not even see a wild hog but once in a blue moon in South Texas.
