Do men REALLY hurt as bad as women when the break up?

depends on the manner of the relationship, but let's say for the sake of argument that it was a very good one but for some reason it just couldn't work. It does hurt, but we men have completely different ways than women for coping with our pain; we tend to confront our demons in our own head and swish it around inside and absorb as much of it as we can. We don't bother our male friends about it and don't offer it as a topic of discussion of we're hanging. It is solely our anguish and no one else's, so there's a sort of guarded vigilance about it. I think men embrace hurt and pain as an imminent thing to be expected in most relationships too. Not as a negative thing but more as a realistic thing. And if our ego hurts it's very short lived.

I'm sure it does hurt some men as much as it hurts us. Most of them just don't show it or admit it. In general I think woman get hurt alot easier than men just because the relationship to a woman deals more with emotions, heart matters and men like to be practical and think about everything. Sometimes love does not make sense. It just is. So even though it is not always easy to see, men hurt too when they loose someone they love.

I know I hurt bad after a breakup or two. The funny thing is the girl is quick to find another man let alone sexual involvement with others, but years later I've only been with one other woman. I think it probably depends on the person but generally speaking, I think women move on quicker and their pain is shorter in duration than a man's which can last for years.....I know cause I've been there.

I have quite a lot of Guy friends, and they are all different. Some are upset and some of their egos get hurt and they try to make them self look better by saying stuff about the girl.

I think a lot of woman don't know how sensitive guys are to these kinda things. It's not an ego thing, usually. Most of the time it's unexpected and they take it by surprise. I'm going on personal experience here.

No it hurts like heck! When I was so in love with a girl and she dumped me it hurt cuz I thought I do my best to keep her. So it's combination of ego and feelings.

Men are human and are built with all the same emotions and feeling women are built with, however!

Women are raised to nurish those feelings, because its alright for girls to be emotional,

Men are taught to stamp out those emotions, and never show if it hurts, because thats what a man bloody well does!

Women have stunted men emotionally by looking for a "real man" so we are presented with men who'er "real men" emotionally blocked. but the fact of the matter is, if a man loves you, and trusts you, he will open up emotionally to you and be ready! because mens emotions are stronger then womens, because they are not used to dealing with such a flood, while women cry and comfort each other all the time. so its easier for us to deal with it.

if the relationship was not that serious and you're the one breaking up their egos do get hurt and some even go to lengths of saying nasty things about the girl.but if the relationship was a genuine one,they do get hurt.they don't show it and get over it quicker than girls do.

Depends on the guy. Some take it hard and don't show it. Alot of them are just hurt because their egos are, especially if they get caught cheating and get dumped. That always messes up their pea brains.

it depends on the relationship. if it was serious then yeah it hurts. but if its like dating some popular girl and then u break up...definetley ego
