How do you tell if he's in it for the long term?

Look at his actions. If he says he is in the long term, but he treats you fairly indifferent then his actions are obviously speaking otherwise. If he says he isn't ready for anything serious...you can believe it. Sometimes you can totally believe what a guy says and sometimes you have to watch what he does.
