i'm asking b/c i've never heard such nonsense. in this day & age, when someone misses you they try to get in contact w/ you as long as they have the means to.....or are there exceptions?

Not necessarily. I think sometimes when a guy can't have that girl so he would not try to ever contact that girl again because it hurts too much to see something you want and can't have.
