Onion skin, for the most part. Some cheaper ones are made from regular paper now. I've noticed that a lot in the past few years. If you want the ones with the thin onion skin paper, you really have to pay a lot more for them.

It sounds like you believe in your mind but no so much in your heart. If we say things are not true in the bible, we are calling God a liar and those He used to write the Good Book. Jesus does still heal today especially in countries/cities that haven't heard about Jesus. The point of healing was that people would believe. God uses healing for His glory. God does show Himself. Maybe not in the way that you imagine, but make no mistake about Him. He does reveal Himself in many, many, ways. One way is He lives in us, another is the Bible. The Bible is the mind of God. He reveals what He is thinking also by conviction. What some call the conscience. He lets us know when we have done wrong. Creation itself is God revealing himself. But most of all, when God speaks and we can feel His presence, we know it for sure. God reveals Himself to me each and every day. He is not some distant and impersonal God but desires a personal relationship with us. We begin with prayer and reading His word.

It's a specialty paper and most are made from linen, cotton, or other plants. Other papers contain a combination of cellulose fibers and synthetics such as latex. Still others are made completely from synthetic materials such as polyolefine.

Very soft, I've fallen quite a few times but landed on the Bible and bounced right back on my feet again. Actually, it was really Jesus taking my hand and lifting me up again.
