White, green, and black teas are all made from the same plant. The difference is that they are picked at different stages during the plant's development, in the order listed above (ie white tea is a younger leaf than green tea). Also, they each have different levels of oxidation, again, in the same order. The longer it is allowed to grow and mature, the more caffiene and the more anti-oxidants it has.

From the research that I did, red tea is the same thing as black tea. Red tea is what it was originally called in China.

The definition of "healthy" really is subjective. As I said, black has more antioxidants (good), but also more caffiene (bad, physiologically), so it really depends on what you are looking for, although many tea companies have a caffiene-removing process that will not substantially decrease the antioxidant power.

Please read the below linked articles if you want to find out more, do not believe the people who have a stereotype in thier heads about green tea being a "cure-all."

Overall--green tea.

There are more than 3000 studies on health benefits from tea and green tea is more powerful than black tea (red tea usually is not Camellia sinensis) in almost all studies.

There are a few exceptions: black tea prevents up to 75% strokes, and green tea seems to top out at 65% prevention of strokes, and black tea may be more powerful at stopping cholera.

On the other hand, green tea is much more powerful with cancer prevention and virus protection including HIV/AIDS.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants. Black tea is partially -fermented , aged green tea and has all kinds of bad things in it. Never heard of red tea. Are you referring to herbal teas? They are great, and some are used as body toners and remedies for various ailments. Best of luck.

Well each type, just like vitamins, do different things. However green tea has much more benefits than the others. It is full of plenty of antioxidents. It helps with weight loss and can reduce the appitite. It even helps with processing the foods you eat when it is consumed with a meal.

green tea. any other non herbal tea is made from the leaves after they are fermented for certain periods of time or allowed to ferment in other flavors or natrual things the fermentation depleats the amount of antioxidents but not to nothing so they are all good for you. and no fermentation does not make the tea alcoholic
