Toby the miniature schnauzer - (3 years old)
We got him almost 2 years ago from a breeder who bought him for breeding stock. He's huge for a miniature, at 29 pounds and 14 inches tall he could pass for a standard schnauzer.
Toby is loving, loyal, and strong as an ox, but wary of strangers.

Bea the affenpinscher / mutt mix - (4 years old)
We got her 3 years ago from the local shelter. She was brought into the shelter from an abusive home. She had a lot of issues, but she's progressing nicely and learning to trust people again. (It took 2 years just to get her to jump up on my lap)
She is gentle, sweet, and enjoys being treated like a queen in my house.

My dog's name is Kobe. He turned 4 years old today. He is a black lab and greyhound (I think) mix. Just picture a black lab, but taller, with a deep chest and lanky limbs. He was born somewhere in Louisiana...I suspect at a puppy mill. He was rescued from a shelter in New Iberia, LA just days before being euthanized, by CAARRE out of Willits, CA. We got him when he was 11 weeks old. His poor little belly was distended by worms, weighed just 13 lbs...his hip bones and ribs were visible. Around 9 mos. of age, he was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and OCD (a joint disease). At 10 mos. of age, he had arthroscopic surgery (like the athletes get) to correct the OCD. Kobe takes Rimadyl twice a day. He loves people, SOME other dogs, empty plastic water bottles and Animal Planet. He hates unneutered male dogs, blankets over his head and baths. When my husband died suddenly 18 mos. ago, he grieved for his 'Dad', along with my human daughter. Kobe is now 82 lbs. and is a big mama's boy.

I have a 6 month old Bichonpoo named Esperanza. She has a very good life. She gets to go almost everywhere with me. The only places she doesn't go is some doctors, physical therapy and Temple. I take her anywhere I can. She loves traveling and meeting people. She is mellow. Loves everyone. She has her chewies and never wants for one. She has plenty of toys. She goes to Puppy Kindergarten. She goes for 4 long walks a day. She has high quality food to eat and plenty of water. This pup never wants for anything. She has so much love and attention. She is a real sweetheart. She just got spade. She is a bit spoiled but she gets a healthy amount of discipline when she needs it. She is very healthy, happy and well-adjusted.

My dog's name is Lindy

Lindy is 1 year old; I paid 14,000 rupees for her when she was 3 weeks old. I bought her from crawford market . Dingoes come in shades of red, black and white. Lindy’s colour is red; she is originally from the desert region of Australia. Her coat is very soft and everyone comments on the softness of the coat.

The dingo is the oldest pure form of dog in the world, and all other dogs stem from the strain. However, they have no dew claws (an inner toe found on some dogs). The blood strain that Lindy comes from is pure and stems back some 15,000 years; extensive DNA tests have been carried out on her family tree.

Every Monday a personal trainer puts Lindy through obedience and discipline lessons. She is well mannered and intelligent. During the training sessions, there is a film crew from Discovery Channel making a film about dingoes and the training of dingoes as pets.

The purpose of making the film is to show people that, like any breed of dog when given love and attention by responsible owners, dingoes make wonderful pets. Laws vary in different states –- some ban ownership, some allow ownership, and some require permits. It is my hope that the film will create an interest for all states to have the same law: allowing the dingo to be domesticated as a pet, like any breed of dog. This will help to keep the pure strain.

Dingoes don’t bark so Lindy is very quiet. She gets along with our two dogs and they are the best of friends. Dingoes are not fond of playing in water. While the dogs love to plunge into the river and swim, Lindy will go in only chest high. However, she loves to run, play and surge through the mass of wild reeds and bulrushes near the house. She has to be washed every two weeks –- not her favourite experience, but she is getting used to it.

Lindy has a wonderfully warm and friendly disposition. She almost smiles when she sees anyone coming towards her; her tail wags and she screws up her face until her forehead wrinkles! She is funny to watch. As a dingo, she has a few natural traits like: trying to bury food under pillows and cushions around the house.

Lindy sleeps at the end of my bed and snores! She also dreams and her legs will go at full pace during a very active dream.

She likes being up high and enjoys climbing onto the roof –- just like how dingoes in the wilds will watch the world go by from a cliff face.

Her favourite food is smoked pork bones and chicken meat. We never buy tinned food, and spoil her with prime cuts of porterhouse and T-bone steaks. The shine in her coat makes is quite obvious that she is a healthy dog.

Lindy has yearly vaccinations against heartworm, roundworm, distemper and kennel cough, along with monthly worm tablets.

Dingoes are very clean animals and do not have a “dog smell”. They don’t jump on people like some dogs, yet they show loyalty, respect and admiration for their owners.

My days are spent with this beautiful animal and she has made life more enjoyable. She really is a wonderful pet dog!

Kiki~ she is a chihuahua/shih-tzu that my exhusband bought me in 1998 and I love her. Her mom was rescued from a petstore, they were going to put her to sleep because she wasn't purchased and they didn't want to deal with her when they had to close the store. Before the rescuers could get her mom fixed their chihuahua stud got to her thus became my Kiki and her siblings (I think 5 of them total). She was the most scared of all the pups (there were also 6 chihuahua pups there too) and hiding in the corner and shaking. I picked her up and she stopped shaking. At that moment I knew I had to have her. My husband at the time went back later and paid for her and at 8 wks he was late coming home and I wondered why until he walked in the door with Kiki. Up until 3 years ago she lived with me but now she is living a retired lifestyle with my grandparents because my kids are two hyper to be around her now. She spends her days sleeping on the couch, chairs and beds in the house.

We bought a dog in Novemeber 05 from the RSPCA... Her name at the time was Violet, we re named her Leah. Leah was 8 weeks old and been rescued from a home where there were 25 dogs running around, she came from a litter of 4 but she was the last one (Dont think she was picked because she is pure white and as I am in Australia very hot and prone to skin cancer) We fell in love with her straight away and brought her home. She is a kelpie x (not sure what the x is but have been told possible bull of some type)... Anyway me being me have done all the right things, shots up to date, wears sun cream when outside and even has a hat (when she will keep it on that is).. We take her to the vets often for general skin checks etc.. Just before Christmas she became sick with dihoreah.. wasnt vomiting just major poops.. we did everything we could, tried this and that under vets advice and then did blood tests and scans and eventually the vet went in for a little look. He told me not to worry as he wasnt worried because she was 1 yr old shouldnt be anything nasty... 24th dec we were informed our darling Leah had colon cancer.. the biopsy showed it had spread to her regional areas (chest etc) and to late for chemo... Each and every day we have with her is special, she is still enjoying a good quality of life and is on 6 hourly medication, last being at 11 pm then up at 5 am (boy am I tired) She loves to ride in the car and food... she wille eat anything (thats the tablets) She has a 10/20 min burst of play every day other than that she louges around and watches the world go by.. Each week that goes by I see they symptoms of her illness be more and more prominant and am aware very soon I will have to take her to be put to sleep.. Not going to do that til I am told by the vet the time is right, we take her for weekly checks and each time I go my stomach turns... So there you go, the life of my dog in a nutshell.. She will not see 2 yrs old but the time we have had her has been beautiful and I would do it all again to have the pleasure of her in my life and vise versa.. She is spoilt rotten, was always going to be a dog we kept outside and in the house when we are home only.. She sleeps in the middle of me and my husband, under the blankets at times!!

Her picture is the one next to my name... Her ears are flat but when they stick up she looks like stuart little the mouse...

We have has to have a few discussions in regards to what we will write on her grave stone... So far we are thinking

Here lies our beautiful Leah, an outside dog at last..

My dog's name is Stuart. He's a purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We bought him from a breeder a few months ago. He's an awesome dog, and by far, the easiest dog to train that I've ever had. He's already housetrained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and knows how to sit on command.

I have 2 pugs right now. We give them crazy names and then we always call them by something shorter. I have a fawn pug named Duchess Soleil Pugslavich, we call her Sulei (Sue-lee). I have a big black pug named Prince Xavier Brutus of Belmont that we call Xavier. Pugs are of chinese decent and were owned by royalty and were often heavily guarded so that's the deal with the royalty stuff. My family is of slavic decent so we joked about the Pugslavich thing and I loved Punky Brewester who was played by Soleil Moon Frye. Xavier was a rescue so we kept his name and we are Ohio State fans so he got Brutus. Belmont is in reference to where we live.
My dogs are crazy. They are both 7 years old and have the best personalities. I take them to the dog park and I'm involved in a pug meet up group so they can hang out with other pugs. They are hilarious to play with and always want to snuggle.

I love dogs... went I was little I went with my aunt to a flea market she bought me a beanie baby dog - I named her Zoey (off of Sesame Street. When I was in Walgreen's with my grandmom I saw a cute dog that had magnets in its paws. Right now its still on my refrigerator in the same spot since the day I got it.
As I got older my grandmom brought the Nintendo DS for me along with the Nintendogs game. I loved that game and brought it everywhere...until I lost the game. I even learned a valuable lesson - Reminder: never bring a valuable, treasured item that has 4 precious electronic lives on your hands that includes 4 dogs with the names of Sandy, Danny, Lenny, and Sunny on a day that involves rain, wind, a downtown field trip to a museum, by septa, walking, and taking a bus altogether in one day (or separately) or you might just lose that valued, treasured thingy that day - too bad I learned the hard way :( - Extra note to myself (because I soooooooooooooooo special :) When in Pennsylvania don't do as the Pennsylvanians do... Or in this case : don't do as I do. Most recently, the only pet I ever had would of been my scooter, that we call our guard dog and my 4 imaginary dogs Sandy, Danny, Lenny, and Sunny.
