Kennel cough is very contagious. I would ask the vet this question but I think he'll say to sanitize everything the sick dog has been on with bleach. Good luck.

Kennel Cough is very contagious. However you are more than safe to bring your puppy home. Kennel Cough is caught in a similar way to a cold or the Flu.

Kennel cough is very similar to a cold in a human. Usually tranferred by air, or by nose to nose contact.

It is rarely lethal so your pup should be fine. There is a spray your vet can administer that immunizes against some strains of kennel cough, but not all.

It is very contagious to other dogs. Any contact with other dogs could spread the disease. But if Grandma's dogs have had the shot on a regular basis. Not just recently because your dog is sick, then it may be all right to bring them. Our local dog park had a sign posted on their entrance to the park saying there was a case of kennel cough in a dog that had visited the park. And it was up to the owner if they wanted to bring their dogs in or not. My dogs are vaccinated annually, and I let them enter, and have had no problems. But it is ultimately your decision to bring your dog or not. And if you ask about the possibility...it's always possible. Is it possible for you to leave your dog home and go without her?

Have your vet give your puppy bordetella orally, for kennel cough.

He is not going to catch it after this amount of time. He would have to be exposed to the dog who has the cough.
