I had a surgery today to repair an inguinal hernia, my 3rd one. However, this is the first time this has happened. The joints of my jaw are sore. I have trouble openning my mouth and it hurts a little to bite down. Anyone ever had this happen?

Sounds like your jaw was probably kept open wide longer with tubes and has bothered your TMJ making it bother you. If it keeps up you may need to see your doctor about something for that next. TMJ can cause headaches, muscle aches on that side, mouth locking etc.Try not to eat anything "tough" to chew on for several days and don't over work the jaw..let it rest as much as you can. Aleve may help with the pain in it. If not then see your family doctor.

if you were put to sleep it could be from the breathing tube or the anesthesia. i had horrible shoulder pain after one of mine and the dr. said it was from the gas they use or something.

I haven't had this happen before, but I think i've heard about it happening. If it gets any worse, contact your doctor.

Its probably from the trach that they used while you were sedated during your surgery.
