A friend of mine reminded me of the war that Clinton had started in Iraq, while he was in office. So, does that mean that the war in Iraq really has nothing to do with Bush? Didn't Clinton realize that this war effort wasn't going to work? Why are we even meddling in other nations affairs? What do you think?

Clinton didn't start a war in Iraq; Presidents don't have the power to do that, only Congress does, and the Republican-controlled Congress would NEVER have voted to declare a war that CLINTON wanted!!! They didn't even believe him when he warned them that al Qaeda was a threat!!! Bush DID start a war, by lying to Congress about Saddam Hussein having nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons in order to get them to vote for the war.

Clinton DID launch several airstrikes against Iraq because UN weapons inspectors believed Saddam Hussein was trying to start up his weapons programs again, since Saddam wouldn't let the inspectors into places they were supposed to look at. Those airstrikes were called Operation: Desert Fox, and Republicans got really hateful when Clinton ordered them, but the strikes WERE successful- Saddam Hussein gave in and let the UN inspectors see what he was up to. In fact, the inspectors were still there when Bush told our country and our Congress that Saddam Hussein was going to attack us with nuclear weapons; the inspectors said Bush was lying about Saddam building new weapons. We know now that the inspectors were right.

Don't believe anyone who tells you that Iraq has ANYTHING to do with 9/11. All you need to do is Google Iraq and 9/11 and you can find news stories quoting Dick Cheney and George W. Bush saying that THEY never said that 9/11 and Iraq had anything to do with the other. Although Cheney's lying when he says that- because he tried to claim that Saddam Hussein met with one of the 9/11 terrorists before the attack. However, the 9/11 Commission that was appointed to figure out what happened on 9/11 got videotape from a bank in Los Angeles on the day the terrorist was supposed to be meeting Saddam Hussein that shows the terrorist was in Los Angeles!!!

I think that at least when Clinton lied, no one died!

Other than sending the occasional bombing raid over southern Iraq to keep Saddam in check, Clinton had nothing to do with the current situation. It was George Bush, Sr. in the late '80s that started it- with Desert Storm... And unfortunately, his son thought he could do a better job than his father did- at bringing peace to the area... Silly boy... He should've stayed on the ranch & saved us ALL alot of trouble..

Your friend is sadly misinformed. First Iraq war was president Bush not Clinton. Congress wanted Clinton to go to war with Iraq and he refused. Don't know if he has a good secretary of defense or what. IT was father and son fighting with Iraq. Guess people are trying to blame Clinton for everything!!

Clinton is a chicken, or a turkey, I haven't made up my mind yet. He bombed an aspirin factory over there, that's all. No, the war doesn't have anything to do with Bush. It has a lot to do with 9/11 and I would just have bombed the you know whats back to Baghdad if I'd been President so Bush has been too lenient.

The war in Iraq did not stared by bill Clinton. It was stared with President George W. Bush's father "George H. W. Bush." and you should say that to George H. W. Bush and his son, not Bill Clinton because he was one of best President in the USA.

If Clinton had stayed in Iraq when he went over & started this hornets nest, our troops would be home by now. If you do not "meddle" in other countries, they do not play nice. Remember when the US stayed out of WWII & Hitler grew to power. By the time the US went to help fight in WWII Europe was in shambles. We learned our lessons of staying out because we have an ocean between us. Hitler took power in 1933 & the US did not join the fight until 1941. It was a learning experience & now we "meddle" in the hot spots before other countries are invaded. Iran, Syria, North Korea & Iraq would be hard to stop together as one unit.

The first Gulf War started when George Bush (the father) was president...not Clinton.

Clinton did continue the no-fly zone, kept our military in the area, and did launch an attack against Iraq when they tried to assassinate Bush (the father).

The Iraqi invasion was a potential conclusion of policies put into play by Bush senior and Clinton years ago. You can only say "stop it or else" so many times.

Clinton was in no way ever involved directly, and he has nothing to do with the iraq war, all responsibility goes to Bush sr & jr.

Clinton just had the regular bombing runs over the course of his administration, nothing serious. Just to keep Saddam on his toes, and enforce the no-fly zones, I guess.
