If I understand your question correctly you are asking if Christians believe that the Bible is literally true in everything it says.
The Bible is divinely inspired, but it was told through she pens of shepherds. So while the Bible is accurate, it is not always literal.
Take the first chapter of Genesis for example. Moses (who would have been remarkably literate and well-educated for the time) would not have had the mental framework to encompass say, the big bang (or even the concept of billions of years). However, if one were standing where the earth would be and watching the big bang unfold around you, it would look an awful lot like the description in Genesis chapter 1. (It is interesting to note that the Bible is the only ancient religious text that does not explain the creation of everything by presupposing the world existed and without gods having sex and fighting)
Also, there are parables and analogies throughout the bible. Many scholars believe that the story of Job is not a literal story about something that actually happened, but something that may be more allegorical. (This is indicated by the unusual framework that we see in the story between God and the Devil that is not used elsewhere)
And then there's the book of Revelation which is impossible to interpret.
There are Christians who believe that Adam and Eve were real people and there are Christians who believe the story of the Fall to be an analogy. There are Christians who believe that the universe was created in seven 24hr intervals, and then there are Christians who believe that the universe was created over five billion years ago (Old earth creationism).
Anyway, I hope this answer is coherent and I hope it helps

No not really, I mean I dont believe we have a perfect translation now but I do believe that the message is still the same and important things didnt change. Christianity is first and foremost faith in Christ. We are saved by Grace through Faith... the Bible doesnt even mention having to know the scriptures, but to live in Christ. However the Bible is probably the best way to find out who Jesus was, you can read other historical accounts but they arent as detailed. The theif on the cross was forgiven and promised Paradise just because he admitted his guilt and believed in who Jesus was.
In my own opinion, I cant say I understand the whole Bible or even agree with everything in it, but I dont write it off as just wrong because I dont agree, Lord knows I am capable of being wrong myself.. I trust God though and I believe He knows what He's doing.

You don't have to believe that the Bible is perfect to be a Christian. Being a Christian just means that you have admited that you have sinned, that you have asked God to forgive you, and that you have acknowledged that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross in payment for your sins so that you wouldn't have to pay for them in Hell. If you believe that, and ask God to forgive you and do your best to live your life for Him, you are are a Christian and you will spend eternity with God, sharing in His great Love. The Bible is a useful tool for Christians however. The Bible was written by people, but God inspired everything included in the Bible. The Bible includes history, prophecies of things that have happened and things that will happen, guidelines for Christian living, words of wisdom, and most importantly the account of what Jesus did for everyone, and how you can except that gift. If you want to know more, feel free to email me. God bless!

well I'm a christian, was raised in a christian home , and {I'm 51 right now, and in all that time I've never heard of what you just wrote. the Bible is not perfect, it's been translate from many different languages to get what we have now....and we don't pray to God (IF) he exists to show us that the Bible is perfect.....we pray for knowledge and understand, among other things....but the first thing we must believe is that God is real, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and rose on the 3rd day and went to heaven where he sits at the right hand of God right now, and that if we are saved we will have the holy spirit to come and live inside us and help us to grow in our faith and try to live as closely to the way Jesus lived, in forgiveness, and faith, patience, and compassion, and love for our fellow man....

No, to be a Christian is not to believe that the Bible is perfect. to be a Christian is to believe in Jesus Christ, to believe that Jesus died and rose for our sins, to believe that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, to believe 100% in Jesus Christ. The bible is just there to show you how to be a Christian, it's to let you know what God expects from us as Christians. The Bible contains basic instructions from God thru men about how we should behave as his children and that's why the Bible is a holy book, it's not a book that was just made up by man. The Bible then inturn is a reliable book which we should look into if and when we want to please God. Thru the Bible you learn how to behave towards others, you learn that hardship comes but it's to discipline you and if you're being disciplined by him then He surely does love you, thru the bible you learn a lot.
So that's why we are called Christians because we walk in the footsteps of Christ and how do we know it's the footsteps of Christ? The Bible lets us know, it guides us how to walk in His steps.

One believes in Jesus when they hear the word of truth within their spirit. Yes, the bible becomes an important part of conversion, and the perfection of the true word of God is evident in how its diligent application to one's life leads to total conversion, but to begin the process of conversion the witness by those who have been born again is received by the one being called by the spirit of God as the truth. The point at which one is able to hear the call is at that point when they have the feeling that there is sin in their life that they need to repent of and have the desire to repent. Apart from this there is no conversion experience because conversion is not firstly an understanding of doctrine but the beginning of a relationship with our heavenly Father.

As you discuss, it is no longer ALL Christians, very few. searching at it from their attitude it type of feels purely about sensible. They ascertain you both have self belief the Bible or you do not. in case you've faith it, then you have self belief all of it, each note, actually. i do not imagine they truly do have self belief each note actually. The Bible is finished of ambiguities, inconsistencies, and downright contradictions. they have self belief a 'conventional understanding' and easily ignore about or affordable passages that disagree with this view. Christians have self belief that the finished objective of existence is salvation. And Protestants have self belief that you win salvation purely by ability of conception. So fundamentalists ascertain believing the Bible is the most important to each little thing. not one of the books interior the Bible were written through the human beings they're named after (except some, no longer all, of Paul's epistles). not one of the authors of the recent testomony lived throughout Jesus' time or met or talked to him (except, back, Paul, once, in a imaginative and prescient). And the finished element is written in a language Jesus did not even communicate, so each little thing in it, even the earliest variations, is a translation--and likely a defective one. yet to take a severe view, to hit upon change interpretations, is antithetical to the fundamentalist attitude, because it is no longer about wondering or severe wondering, it is about conception.

The Bible is the Word of God. So for sure everything in the Bible is true. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 says that "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

When I thought about being religious, I looked to the Bible for inspiration and as a comtemplative tool - not the final word.
However, many Christians I know would be the first to admit that the bible isnt perfect.
No - that doesnt mean we want to become anything else, thank you.

.WRONG....To be a Christian, you have to admit you're a sinner, repent from your sins, and ask Jesus into your heart. You can become a Christian without ever reading one word of the Bible.
As far as the Bible being perfect: It is the inerrant, infallible, inspired word of God.
