Hmmm. Since you used the word "yank" and not "tweeze", then I'd have to say yes, it's damaging. Tweezing requires care and gentleness, and there's a bit of a technique. Yanking requires no technique (or gentleness). Now we're talking eyebrows here. Any kind of tweezing or plucking or yanking on other parts of your face, especially your chin, will cause the blood supply to the hairs there to make stronger, deeper, thicker hairs -- no matter how gentle you are. They will not get lighter or finer like eyebrow hair will over time.

If your bushy eyebrows bother you, do what I did. Electrolysis. No, it doesn't hurt at all if you have a good electrologist, and my eyebrows went from being bushy to looking like a model's. Permanently.

Last thing... you mentioned that you do it when you're bored. That may be another story. Trichotillomania is a compulsive hair pulling disorder. Check it out on a search engine. In time you may end up pulling your head hair or you eyelashes if you don't get a grip on it now. If this is what you have, don't let yourself get bored! Many people do it while they watch TV or read. Learn to knit!

its not damaging. its like plucking out your eyebrows. eventually after u yank em so much the ones you yank dont grow back. so if u want to keep your eyebrows stop yanking them cuz you yank the root sometimes

Are you a guy? Lol just wondering. My boyfriend does that too. As far as I know it's not damaging. I tweeze and wax my eyebrows, so I hope it's not damaging...

Damaging? No, women have been plucking & waxing for decades. I can't figure it could be any more damaging then just pulling them out yourself.
But....did you know that is a charactaristic of OCD?
