I agree somewhat with the board about you probably don't need them but if you do see a point to keeping them...you can do this.
I would look at each box and decide if you do really need it, if it is in good enough condition, if it is sturdy enough, and set a limit on how many is reasonable...and weed some of them out. Then go through each box that you are keeping, and jot down its dimensions when it is assembled. Write the dimensions on the box. Then stand them up somewhere that they take the least amount of room and don't topple over, such as between two heavy shelving units. Make sure that when you store the boxes, you can see the dimensions easily just by thumbing through them. Then you just flip through like a file and find the size that you need for whatever you are doing.

if you use 4 hooks that are used to hang up bikes ,,, screw 2 of them into the ceiling truss's about 4ft.1inch apart, now move over a couple truss's and do the same thing . now put a old broomstick handle in two of the hooks then one in the other two hooks , lay a sheet of Plywood across the two broomsticks and your have made a shelf that hangs down about 6 or 7 inches from the ceiling that you can now store your flatten boxes on . this also works great to store fishing equipment and sporting goods , old golf clubs and so on , good luck,,,,,, note: (you may want to lay a couple 2x4's going same way under the plywood to prevent sagging)

How about recycle them..........Then you don't have to store them. Saving Boxes is the first sign of being a RATPACK.......
If you need boxes, you can always go to the grocery store or some retail store and get them for free.........

If you are really serious about keeping them~If the ceiling of your garage isn't finished, put them up there between the rafters:)
