Yes, I'd rather die with my morality and logic than pushing aside both for a crooked organized religion.

My grandfather saw D-day and extensive combat action all throughout World War II, one of the most moral people I ever knew, he never pushed his morals aside for an organized religion.

I know if I was in a foxhole I sure wouldn't take the couple of seconds it would take to pray to god, that could be the difference between life and death, and I wouldn't count on god taking a bullet for me.

Yep. We're also the victims of car accidents, muggings, "terrorist" attacks, and get terminal diseases.

Yes. There are plenty of atheists in the US military today, including combat troops.

If you don't count Communism as a religion, there have been millions upon millions of atheists in foxholes.

There are more Chistians in foxholes as there are many atheists in the battle field.

Yes. Though someone who truly isn't an athiest...but beleives they are..will pray to God...and ask for God's help.

If anyone finds themselves doing this in times of need...they beleive in God, but have been going thru a questioning/doubting period.

Totally normal.

Yes, there have been many proud non-believing soldiers in many countries.

The logic of that sentence is: "desperate people try to cover all their bases when there's a threat of death". It's patronising - both to atheists and to believers.

Certainly, notwithstanding the commonplace expression to the contrary.

Yes they are every where. And the religion business is worried. Their collection baskets are getting smaller but the death toll from religion killing is getting larger.

Yes, I've known a few myself. Trust me, not everyone calls out to a God when they face death or are in danger.
