When Jesus was at Cana for a wedding feast, the wine ran out. Mary then came up to him and said "They have no more wine." Did Jesus say "Have faith that the guests will be pleased," no. He said to those nearby "Fill those jars with water."
Prepare yourself for a change to take place, make the house of your body ready, the waterjars of your acceptance at hand, and the wine will follow.
Speak with those whom understand an eating disorder. Listen to their advice, tell of your struggles. Through the preparation of the ordinary is the miraculous realized.

Fasting is a method by which we clean out toxins that accumulate in the body and in the brain. When we are cleansed we feel better and think more clearly and an additionally it is good for our spirit as well, making us more receptive to God.
I had an eating disorder because of CFIDS and the Lord led me into fasting ever so gradually. Just one day here and one day there. Don't try anything extreme. Try fasting at lunch. Just drink water and take that hour and meditate on His Word or in prayer. Do it a few times before you attempt to do anything longer. Gradually increase the hours until you can fast for a full day.
I never fast unless I know in my heart that the Lord is telling me to do it. I will only fast a few times in the year. I can fast for three days without problems. There are certain stages that one will go through, while fasting. There are books written about fasting in both health food stores and Christian bookstores. Please educate yourself first before just jumping into it. My CFIDS is completely healed and although I am thin I am no longer "skinny" and fasting does not seem to do any damage or harm to my appetite. I always feel renewed and clear headed after fasting.

Please get help from a specialist who deals with eating disorders. When I quit smoking I put on about 20 pounds. I have since lost ten of them and eat very healthy--- but I don't binge and purge nor have I ever been anorexic. Bulimia and anorexia are part of the same problem. You asked if fasting would put you back in your disorder. By acting on your bulimia you all ready are back in your disorder. For free help try Overeaters Anonymous. Otherwise look up other groups or couselors in your area, choose someone who is an expert in eating disorders. Also exercise (hiking, walking, jogging) really helps with the stress of quitting smoking. Good luck.

Get some hard candy and keep it with you at all times. Never chew is just work it in your mouth. You quit smoking your body wants to replace that with some thing that’s why you are eating. Eat 4 small meals a day and keep fruit around for in-between. You are your own worst enemy so learn to become your own best friend. When you get that craving grab your bible and read a few lines, anything that will keep you satisfied. Good luck...

It depends thrully what is on your Heart...or you fasting for The Lord to help you or are you fasting for a desire to be thin.....try whenever you want to do something like that to read the bible and pray....please dont take offence but usually if someone has a problem like binging and purging thier is an inner problem... so just to let you know God Loves You just want to renstate that. my sister was a victim to bulimia and she overcame it once she overcame that God Loves her and so can other people and that she is a child of God and When God Created her He made No mistakes. read Jerimiah 1 and 1 Corinthians 13........they help me

If you don't mind i would like to reply to this being a Muslim.
Lets now forget you being a Christian and Me being a Muslim, after all we are human beings who strive for a better day for all of us.
> about the eating habit - Islam says that one should not eat too much and asks : out of one stomach capacity - 1/4th of food, i/4th of water and rest "Air".
and defenitly it asks the believer to eat for living and not to live for eating.
> About the present case i would like to suggest you to have good control on your food habit, as it will help you in having better control on your instincts and will help you to devote more time for things which you wish to do.

I don't know anything about the role of fasting in Christianity but I do know that in Islam it's quite clearly said that anybody with medical reasons not to do so _should not fast_ - it's actually seen as a sin to endanger yourself in fasting.
I would consult a priest, but more importantly I would consult a doctor. I'm sure the Jesus you believe in wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.

First you need to understand the significance of fasting, what it is and what it means. In your situation you don't need to fast you just need to control your eating habits.

I know of a four-week fast that I am currently on. I had a problem with sodapop. I was drinking too much of it and craved it constantly, but the fasting is helping. IM or e-mail me if you want details of the four-week fast.
Blessed Be.

Nope..
FASTING should only occur when a person is so busy PRAYING that they forget to eat.
It is not supposed to be an exercise of its own.
