He says that he still loves me but that its better that we are friends. He says that when we were dating he loved me but it was different. Yet we talk on the phone every night *he lives 3 hours away* and he still talks about being intimate and calls me pet names...Whats the deal?

He obviously still has feelings, but the long distance must have been too much. What you need to do is let him know that the pet names and whatnot are too confusing for you. If you are going to remain friends you need those boundaries or one of you is going to hurt very badly when the other moves onto a new relationship.

it quite normal to have feeling for some just because you are notogether does not mean that the feeling change.but if you
are friends that good but you need to keep the distance from each other wise you will both get into something that is not good
when one or both you find other loves. time to move on
just take it slow and then it will go by with out much fuss.

It was only a week! You still love him too! If the bad times in your relationship outweigh the good, don't waste your time! Plus you're making it harder to make a sound decision about being apart, because you two haven't been apart!

He wants sex, that's all! Just end the relationship unless you like being treated as a sex object!
