In some countries showing pda (public display of affection) is not polite (for instance Japan). I think this staring has the same background. Maybe people are jealous, maybe people ask themself whether they would want to walk there. It is a statement "Look at us, we love each other".

Because it's Indian society..
And thats how their minds have been working since time immemorial..
They're always suspicious when they see a girl and a boy together..
It can annoying ,but there isnt much you can do about it..
Just make sure that there isnt any public display of affection.

Because they are trying to remember what it felt like to be in love!!
When you have been married for a while and have kids you sometimes don't have the time to enjoy simple pleasures like that!
Be proud when people look at you, as they probably thinking how lucky you both are!

Interesting you brought this up. Also great that you understand that you are not the only one this happens to.
People in interracial couples seem to be most aware and/or paranoid about staring so it's good to know that it happens to everyone.

take care not to get too cuddly with your girl friend. if you are in india then kissing and hugging in public is strictly no no.
you can join hands or go for bike rides. beyond that just dont care. there are many people out there who might be jealous of you

Different reasons. If one is alone and staring, could be they wish it were them with someone, observing how to, pondering a relationship (+ or -, should I? shouldn't I?), good aura attracts attention, wondering what they see in each other, wondering if they want someone to join them:)
If with your other half and staring, don't they look happy, does he/she feel the same about me?, what does he/she see in him/her?, you don't hold my hand like that anymore!, I wonder if they swing?:)

People are drawn to the energy you may put out...
love is a very powerful draw.
So when you walk down the street - people can feel the
emotion and are drawn to it. This can happen even for
people who have been together for a long time if the passion
and love is still going strong.

I think its natural to most of the people. Somewhere in our minds we try to keep ourselves in that place. This is not all the time.
