No, I don't believe a person who committed suicide will go to hell, unless they were not saved.
Its sad that people kill them self and really sad when they do so over another person(s) in their life at the time that influence them to do so. Influence such as a boy killing himself because his girlfriend ended their relationship.
Suicide is a very selfish act. The person was not in the right frame of mind when they plotted and executed this selfish act. They didn't take into consideration the impact their death would bring on those that truly loved them.

No, I do not believe in hell that is a Christian invention to control people.
I think what happens when someone commits suicide they are reborn again to a life that is exactly like the one they are trying to leave. This is because we have lessons to learn in each life that we live and if we are going through difficult things it is because there is a lesson to learn from these things and if we commit suicide we have not learned them and must keep being born into lives exactly the same as what we tried to leave until we learn these lessons, then we can move on.

Yes, it is an act of murder, not a right of the individual. Only God can tell you when your time is up. Remember it is your SOUL that is yours. Your body is a temple. Treat it as such. It is just on loan to you during your earthly years. Just my opinion based on faith. Sorry about your relative. But I think it's a weak minded cop out. Who does suicide hurt more? Not the person who did it. All those left behind. Like you. Obviously.

No, because I am born of God. My heavenly Father will invite me into heaven, even if the devil tricked me to believe its lies.
My cousin did commit suicide. But I prayed to the Lord if he was in heaven with the Lord. The Lord assurred me that he was. Only because he was born again.
But all the lies, unforgiveness, etc. got fried when what he built on the Christ Rock foundation was tested by fire. So, he didn't get the reward the Lord wanted to give him.
If you pray to the Lord about this relative, and praise God in spirit and truth that your relative is in heaven with the Lord and rejoice in your spirit in Gods truth, then you can have assurance your relative is with the Lord. Because God is love, and love rejoices in the Truth.
And if you can't rejoice in spirit founded in faith that person is with the Lord, then person isn't with the Lord.

When people do it for God, some religions guarantee that they will get a reward when they are dead. Remember 9/11 when the hijackers were promised a reward? Of course the religions know that they can't come back to complain if there is nothing there. That's why the leaders never fly airplanes into buildings, they encourage the followers to do it.

I quote what Billy Graham said.
------------------------------------
Whenever I answer a question like this, I'm deeply aware that someone may be reading this who is seriously contemplating suicide—and I would do everything in my power to convince them not to take that final, drastic step. With Christ there is always hope.
God loves them; He loves them so much that Jesus Christ was willing to die on the cross for their salvation. And others care about them, as well (even if they have a hard time believing it). Suicide is never God's will, and even in the midst of life's worst storms we can look to Christ and discover that He truly is "an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" (Hebrews 6:19). The first step back from the brink of suicide is to turn to Christ and open our hearts to Him.
Suicide is always a tragedy—but in itself it is not the unpardonable sin. The only sin God cannot pardon is the sin of rejecting Him. God knew your cousin's heart, and He also knows that mental illness sometimes clouds a person's judgment so much that they aren't fully responsible for their actions.
At the same time, ask God to help you be sensitive to the needs of others—especially someone who may be facing discouragement or depression. Often simply knowing that someone cares will help them turn the corner.

I was raised a christian in the Methodist Church. That is what I have been taught and have heard all my life that if you commit suicide you will not go to heaven.
I really don't know what to believe anymore. I recently went to a funeral of a man who committed suicide. THey played a song by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton. When I get to where I'm going. It says, when I get to where I'm going there'll be nothing but happy tears, when I get to where I'm going don't cry for me down here.
I started thinking about it. I don't know what to think. IF you kill yourself, aren't you only making it easier on yourself and wanting to be with those you already know in heaven.
Why should God punish you because you know your life would be better in heaven. When someone dies, that's all we say. He's in a better place. If you kill yourself for wanting to be in a better place, why should you be punished for that?

Its up to God to decide ultimately.
But here is an analogy:
If you have a pet animal that you love, and it is injured very badly and really wants to die but it is too hurt to have the power to kill itself, you feel impulsed to put it out of its misery. Now God loves us all, and he may see us suffering unbearably and if we commit suicide he may feel sympathy for us. But I would never advocate suicide. No matter how bad things seem, there is always the capability for good to result. I would wish to think that suicide is not a go-to-hell-immediately card, but I think it is far from being a God-feels-your-pain-and-will-let-you-in-heaven-because-of-your-suffering card.

No, they do not go to hell. Often people commit suicide because they are in extreme pain either emotionally or physically and cannot cope with it anymore. No merciful or loving God would ever send someone to Hell, particularly under that circumstance.
And my condolences about your loved one. I know how hard it is to loose someone who you are very close with.

No. I don't think God would punish somebody with an eternity in hell if they were sick and not in their right minds, when someone commits suicide, mentally they are not all together there at the time, God is with everybody all the time, when we're healthy, sick with a terminal illness or mentally unstable, He loves us all and is very forgiving. God bless.
