My RA doctor put me on Tramadol for my Fibromyalgia which is chronic pain, or pain that is long lastine and doesn't let up. It had no affect on me whatsoever. I was told it was very powerful and actually was a synthetic narcotic. I tried various dosages since I thought it was my last resort, but to no avail. People all react to different meds in differing ways. If your doctor has recommended it, give it a chance. I hope it works for you. By the way, I had no side effects at all, not even the one I hoped for, which was relief of my pain.

Yes lm on Tramadol for chronic pain l to in the begining felt really sick but when you get use to the tablets that goes away. It took about 3 weeks for it to settle down with me. If it doesn't you will need to go back to the Dr and try something else.

I read your question and I said to myself "I'm going to tell this person how SICK it made me"! Tramadol, for me, gave me that feeling of "I'll feel better if I just barf"! And it didn't help the pain at all. Sxelaxin helped SOOOO much, but it's more than 200 month for it. So I suffer. If it helps, I have fibromyaigia.

It's a pretty common side effect.
You might try taking it with some food.
If this is likely to be long-term therapy for you, you may want to look at how well you feel you can put up with this side effect over the long haul, then talk with your doctor about alternate or adjunct therapies.
