Certain part of the old UFC were great, no time limit, bare knuckles, GI or NO GI (fighter's choice). Those made each fight unpredictable and exciting. What I DON'T miss are those 45 minute matches of Royce Gracie locked in the guard, tapping Shamrock's kidneys lightly. The inactivity of the old UFC was a killer, that I don't miss, but you're right no weight class and bare knuckle fighting was pretty awesome.

it extremely is seen "old-college" now? Wow. Yeah, I leave out those days. I leave out the competition WWF had that made it attempt to attain that total new point. I leave out WCW's Cruiserweight branch and that i leave out ECW as properly. With how WWE has destroyed something of North American wrestling over the final 2 a protracted time, i'm wondering whether they're going to ever be compelled to positioned on a high quality product returned. Trevor ok, the 80s have been wonderful different than for Hogan's dominance. 80s NWA grow to be consistently the top of yank wrestling, so some distance as i'm worried. On an element-be conscious, I leave out AJPW from the 90s as properly.

I just want one thing back that I think would represent a more realistic fight and thats for there to be no rounds. Just an all out fight for 15 or 20 minutes like a fight should be, ring the bell and don't ring it again until the fight is kaput, and see who won. Rounds should be for boxing and not brawls. No ref stand ups either because of lack of action, it should be the fighters responsibility to get back on his feet if he is taken down, but also he should be penalized if he is just laying and praying and will be deducted if the judges conclude is just trying hold on and not do anything. I know it would be more boring but I still think that would be more realistic.

Me too. I liked the open forum that it used to be.
It was interesting to watch because people had defined styles, there were not as many mixed martial art stylists.
I still like the modern version of UFC but I liked the old style better.

Less rules was better, have you tryed watching Pride fighting? They are still pretty violent, as long as you watch the matches they fight in Japan. When they fight in Vegas they have to use the weak *** vegas rules. I don't know if I blame UFC or Vegas?
All I can say is I do hope Randy Couture beats the **** out of Tim Silvia.

I don't miss 22 minutes of Royce Gracie clinging to Dan Severn, or whoever. current UFC is fine. Fedor would kill the poop out of Silvia in a second.

Everything has gotten more advanced. Sure I miss watching tai-chi ninjas getting their teeth knocked out but you can't really call these guys formidable now; can we? Watch Fedor, Cro-cop, randallman, Silva, Minotauro, etc eg pride. These dudes f'in rock bro. UFC is sort of newb friendly and I wonder if they are fixing half their fights.

I prefer the old school rules, but there is actually more striking now because of the gloves. And for everyone who thinks Pride has better fighters, you're smoking dope.
