Plan your dream...
When you lay down, visualize yourself going to your favorite spot or safe space. You control where you go, what you see and so on. Those are the first steps when someone is learning to lucid dream. From there you interact with whatever you see or do. You are in the driver's seat.
It'll come back with a bit of work.

I have never had the ability to lucid dream, but I still get dreams occasionally. I find thinking about something interesting before I go to bed helps me have a good dream that night.

Sometimes during the younger years we did things that we didn't need to 'think' about, and called it a natural ability (which it is). As we grow older we tend to forget about these things. We also start thinking about it more than we have to and thereby complicate things even more. The ability to control dreams is there for anyone that is interested in it. The first step is to recognize that you DO have the ability to control your dreams! (which you already have!). The other part of it is in HOW you control it. If and when you are conscious that you are dreaming. Remind yourself that, 'hey, i CAN CONTROL my dreams!" and with this knowledge, try something in your dream. I used this beneficial knowledge when I am having a nightmare. For example, the dream that has you falling.. and falling... like you have jumped from the roof of a building... and when you finally hit the bottom? you wake up!!! When I recognized this dream, and I saw that I was dreaming it, I let my mind change the falling... and then I was flying! like superman (or similar hero? neo in matrix?) and that was so cool ! ;) Have fun! I do believe this 'ability' is in everyone's grasp. It is just that few 'remember' about it and there are others who stop believing, and yet there are majority who just don't care anymore. I think and believe it's actually great fun! which explains why it was easier to do when you were younger. When we were younger, it was easier for us to dream, fantasize, etc. We just have to 're-learn' it. ;)

aww man i want to lucid dream too! I guess you'll have to resort to inducing them by the various techniques found online or in Stephen Laberge books. There's also this book I saw recently at the bookstore called Lucid Dreaming in 30 days which seemed cool. (In Myhelphub.com they were selling something that could make you have a ld in 7 days too.).

damn u were able to have lucid dreams? Those are hard to do...usually your conscious mind has no control when a person sleeps. I have no answer to your question, but the fact you could do that is cool
