Evangelicals try to change the beliefs of those who believe differently, often to the point you want to choke them. They like to target our children for this especially. Should we assume they are breaking the Golden Rule, or do they want us to keep trying to lead their children away from their religion?

God broke his own rules. Dr Spock's golden rule for a parent is consistency. If you believe God is truly our parent, then why did he murder every living being that wasn't on Noah's Ark? Then he turns around and says "thou shall not kill". Or why did God impregnate Mary, then turn around and say not to covet your neighbors wife.

I would like to stop an evangelical and say, "I will time you. For as much time as you tell me about your religion, I will then tell you about my religion. You are to behave as politely and listen as attentively as I will. Deal?"

It's true that the Christians really think they're doing a good thing. But then again, so do many of the atheists who are (in their opinion) trying to save the children from a life limited by religious delusions and a belief that somehow all of humanity is sinful unless we go to the one and only source for forgiveness. I have a funny feeling the Christians would be angered by atheists telling their kids that. So in that arena, at least, no--the Rule doesn't seem to apply.

The Golden Rule isn't the essence of the ten Commandments and the Beatitudes. that's an blunders on your wondering. The Golden rule is ideal, yet does no longer practice to the rearing of youngsters. ***** Spare the rod and smash the youngster. children (11 AND less than) aren't any further to be overwhelmed, yet a spanking corrects undesirable behaviour. In our kinfolk, it become one pop on the butt with a timber spoon for each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days of age, and he cried extra that he become getting a spanking, than from the pops. i'm appalled on the baloney that has merely been revealed pointing out that youngsters who were spanked have a larger incident aspect of sexual misbehaviour. what a crock.

Evangelicals are scums who think that they can go to church every Sunday and commit piles of sins while playing God (violation of the first commandment)! I've never heard of "Do unto others" as being the number one rule either. In other words, what you would do with yourself for satisfaction, would that necessarily apply to children too?! What if you like watching women with big boobs on TV? Would you want your children getting involved in that at a young age?

I think a healthy alternative is always a good thing. Ignorance is not a good thing to have. But teaching a child that god is fact when they are too young to know the difference is child abuse. I do not care what people think about me saying that. To tell a kid something that controls there life when they have no critical thinking skills to debase the assumption is mental abuse. The taboo on debating religion is so stupid. Everything should be able to be debated without any fear.

Do you even understand the Golden Rule? It is about loving yourself and your neighbor like yourself. Can't really love your neighbor if you don't know how to love yourself first. I would think this rule, if adhered to, and believed by, everyone in the world,we would have Peace. Imagine........

No they are trying to save your kids, don't stop somebody from telling your kids the truth, especially if you wont! The truth is that there is a devil loose and he is after your kids and they need Gods HOLY SPIRIT TO PROTECT THEM, so if we get a little on your nerves its because you don't have his spirit yet and we know it is URGENT that you and everybody receive the HOLY SPIRIT FROM THE ONE TRUE and living God!

Maybe it is difficult to give unto Ceasar what is unto Ceasar and give unto God what is unto God.
