Not insults on Yahoo. I mean there is no clear scripture on a pre-tribulation rapture. What if we have to endure the tribulation?

You have no food or water, cant get any without the mark of the beast. Can't sell anything you have either...unless there is a good black market started.

We all think the latter reign is greater than the former. We all know the persecution of the former ones, like all 12 apostles were killed. Why do we think the latter reign will produce no persecution? Our flesh would like to think this way...but what if its the other way around?

Are you ready to enure major persecution, when denying Him would make it easier...you'd have food and water, shelter.... would we all endure that? I know I would at ANY cost...I am ready for torture.

Anyhow, just want some honest insight.

Matthew 24:15-22
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Pre-trib means before the great tribulation. That starts at the abomination of desolation, which is what the revealing of the man of sin is described as in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5.

According to the Bible's definition of the great tribulation, a pre-tribulation rapture occurs anytime before Israel's persecution starts. Matthew 24:15-22 Many view the rapture prior to the beginning of the final seven years appointed to Israel, Daniel 9:27, but by the very use of "tribulation" in the term "pre-tribulation," identifies the timing with that of the great tribulation. As shown in the definition, and straight from Matthew 24:21, this time doesn't start until mid-way through the 7 years. This also limits the time of the great tribulation to just over 3 1/2 years maximum.

David, there maybe hope for you yet. Has reason finally conviced you that you really are a Christian rather than a Jew for Jesus?

This would be a step in the right direction. Did you check out the 7th Day Adventist website link in my answer to you a few days ago?

Here it is again. http://www.adventist.org/

I am Jewish and not trying to recruit for the Adventists, but if you want to embrace your Old Testament Biblical roots while worshipping Jesus at the same time then I believe these folks will lead you down a better path than the group you currently run with.

One thing I have never seen you write about is what happened 6 weeks ago that you ended up with them? Were they handing out literature in a public area or did you have a friend that invited you? Would be interested in finding out.

Good luck with this transformation (unless I misread your meaning of "Fellow Christians", which in that case I will call it a Freudian Slip).

No rapture

Gospel According to Saint Matthew
Chapter 6

33 Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.

The origins of the doctrine of the rapture are hotly debated. The Orthodox, mainline Protestant, and Roman Catholic churches (which represent the majority of Christians worldwide) have no tradition of such a teaching and reject the doctrine, in part because they cannot find any reference to it among any of the early Church fathers and in part because they do not interpret the scriptures the way that Rapture-believers do.

You are ignoring the divine origin of the Catholic Church. You are also ignoring the fact that it is the only Church whose authority to interpret scripture comes from God. You also ignore the fact that Jesus Christ promised to guide the Catholic Church till doomsday.
Your interpretation of the book of Revelation has no basis in truth or in fact. For example all the prophecies in Chapter 17 have already been fulfilled. The harlot referred to in that chapter is the Roman Empire.
Give it up you will not win because God is on our side.
May the Lord's peace be with you.

I'm sorry, but God's word tells us that we are not appointed unto wrath. Jesus said in this life, yes we would have tribulation; but He also said for us to pray to be considered worthy to escape the coming tribulation...meaning the period of time which will last seven years. I do believe in a pre tribulation rapture.

However, if I am mistaken, as in all things, I pray that God give me grace to endure whatever He would ask of me. I am not going to brag that I will be able to do it...remember what happened to Peter.

I think that you are trying to be truthful about your stance on the rapture of the church. I do not hold your point of view as being a fact. But I will play along with your scenario.

I hope that I am ready, have you ever read Foxe's Book of Martyrs?

There were tortures that are very discriptive in that book that are just terribly horrible.

I try to think about that kind of torture not being capable of making me crack, but you never know man, you just have to trust God with not giving you a trial that you cannot endure.

Peter stated "I would never leave you, Jesus" just rpior to denying Him 3 times. Be careful what you say emphatically.

As for the tribulation, I agree. But God will give strength to get through it.

Ok dude, I don't think any of that will happen in America. Who's going to persecute Christians here? Surely not the atheists...

I think the persecution will apply to the TRUE Christians, and not the ones who call themselves Christians. And if anybody suggests a mark of the beast to buy or sell things I would suspect they would not live long, and neither would their system.

Hummm, look up 'en tachei,' preferably in KTDNT and go read Rev 1:1 and 22:6. Your exegesis violates the language.
