they are both equally horrible. physical abuse could eventually lead to death. and mental abuse could lead to all kinds of mental problems and can in some cases lead to suicide. they are both terrible things to endure and should not be done to anyone.

yea i think mental abuse is worse. but im scared of dying because im scared of pain but thats mental too i guess. The mind is the scariest thing and it can make matters seems worse is you dont have peace of mind or your abused mentally. Sometimes your own mind can cause your death. I read of an account where the doctor told the woman that she had tc which was a term for something. She thought it meant "terminal condition" and she freaked out and started breaking out and died but in reality it was a condition that would not have killed her at all but she reacted that way in a panic which her body was then unable to handle.

I was in a relationship that was both mentally and physicly abusive and I would say that MENTAL is so much worse. With the Physical it would be over quick but with Mental it was just drug out for so long. But either way BOTH are WRONG! If you are being abused in anyway please get away and ask for help anywhere you can get it! I hope this is just a question you wanted to ask and not something you are living with! But if it is something you are living with remember to NEVER be to proud to ask for help to get away!

I think that mental abuse is worse. If someone breaks your, it will heal. If you get a black eye or a busted lip, it will hurt but it does get better. Verbal abuse stays with you forever. If someone calls you a horrible name, tells you your ugly, makes fun of the way you walk etc.... You really never get over it. I am a victim of verbal abuse from my ex husband of 14 years ago. Some of the things he would say to me still come to mind this very day.

Physical abuse will mend. Mental abuse will stay with you for ever, and is really hard to get over. Years of putting up with mental abuse will affect your whole ...low self-esteem, depression, and just the lack of a want to carry on. Fortunately some of us realize soon enough that you only have one life, and not to let one s hitheads abuse ruin it.

Physical. I think generally people throughout their lives are being abused mentally more than physically. Plus the pain is just ..so straight forward.

I believe it to be mental, the physical will normally heal within short period of time so as painful as it is initially the pain should subside quickly. The mental abuse however can stay with you forever and can never be fixed.

Mental pain, in my opinion, is much worse. All you have to do is tell a person that thy are ugly every day and beat them down verbaly and eventualy they might try sucide or some other form of self-mutalation. Physical abuse may leave bruses and broken bones, but menal pain lasts a life time and may lead to self inflicted injuries.

With physical abuse you can be fatally injured or disabled. However psychological leaves you scarred on the inside and can lead to suicide. Thus they are both equally bad. Both can leave life long permanent damage both physical and psychological creating the same kind of monster out of the abused. The damage from both types of abuse are life long and often leaving permanent scarring to the soul.

Physical. It affects both the body and mind and both lets you know it. With mental, the physical aspect of it doesn't show immediately, but over time.
