it is 3 over x-1=2

x-1

it wants me 2 use porportions

3/(x-1)=2
3=2(x-1)
x-1=3/2
x=3/2+1
=5/2 or 2.5

3= 2(x-1), 3=2x-2, 3+2=2x, 5/2=x, x=2.5
