Well... if you stuck around for the cops... and they find you have no insurance, AND it was your fault... you get two tickets. One ticket for being uninsured and one for the accident. If you are at fault, then the person you've hit can sue you personally for the repair bill to their car and any applicable healthcare costs. If it was the other person's fault, you would still be ticketed for being uninsured, but they would be liable for your repair and health care costs.
Generally, you make a claim to your insurance company to get your bills paid and then your insurance company makes a claim against theirs, or sues theirs.
If the accident hasn't happened yet.. go to safeauto.com or esurance.com or even progressive.com and check out some quotes and try to get just liability. I mean.. if you cause a wreck your car is still screwed, but at least you won't get sued.

From the state:
Drivers licenses suspension
Additional Fees
Mandatory Insurance/SR-22 for the next few years
From the people you hit:
You pay for their injuries out of your pocket
You pay for their car out of your pocket
Don't have the money, you would sell/the state would sell what you own (car, electronics, house) to come up with the money.

seriously,,your in a lot of trouble, you can be sued and if anyone was hurt, they can take anything you have or ever get for just about the rest of your life,,its that serious, plus all the fines and tickets your going to have to pay ,it isn't a good idea to drive without it anymore, and besides its a law you must have it,but they can mess with you for life on a bad enough accident, good luck,i hope this help,s.

First of all, it is NOT an accident. It was someone's fault. Second of all, if you hit me with no insurance, I will kick your azz. Third, legally you are in a buttload of trouble.

You may loose your license. You will get a ticket and a fine. The other driver will sue you. If you own anything they will attach it and take it away. If you don't own anything the court will attach your wages on any job you get and take money from you until you have paid. In some places you may go to jail.

you can / would be sued by the individual or insurance company for damages. If a judgment is issued, depending on your state laws, you can have a garnishment issued against your wages, A lien against property, freeze or seizure of bank accounts or assets (stocks, bonds, valuables, and auction of property to get the amount owed.

There could be a written citation and as mentioned, a law suit from the other driver if they so choose. So to sum up, it's not good.
