I think a long distance relationship can work, as long as you do not keep it a long distance relationship for too long. You need to be sure to make the effort to see each other as much as you can, and communicate with each other often. The primary goal though is to eventually be together. At some point someone has to make the move to be closer to the other person. In general though, I think they can work in the short term. My fiance and I started out as a long distance relationship. We are moving together in June and getting married in August. He is the love of my life, and I am glad we took the chance.

A long distance relationship can work in many ways. If you believe that your love and trust can survive the distance, then a long distance relationship should work out just fine.
Remember, if you truly love someone, the distance wouldn't matter as long as you keep in contact and stay connected. When you see that particular person again, the visit would definately be worthwhile.
-I hope I helped and good luck!

Sure it can I have been in a log distance relationship for 10 months now and its been great. I go and visit as much as possible, we talk every night and every morning. We send pictures to eachother and write letters. i think its actually helped our relationship grow and made us realize how much we love eachother. he and I have been in long distance relationships in the past and it didn't work out but we still agreed to try to make this work and it has. He's coming to see me in a couple of weeks and I'm moving back to be with him. It all depends if you are really committed to the other person.

I think it all depends on how long of a distance and how "long" the distance. I dont think it would keep my interest for very long.

It can work - but it is the hardest thing I have ever had to do!!
We lasted 6 months before I moved to be with him and now we both don't know how we managed to actually last that long.

Sure, actually it's much better than living with the person. You stay in the 'honeymoon' phase of the relationship much longer, the respect stays in place, and boy are you thankful when you do get together!

If you both work at it. I had one many years ago and was very happy...then we broke up a year after I moved back. The relationship was fun until I matured and he didn't .

No... based on experience....
But hopefully, when my boyfriend gets his new job abroad, I deeply hope the relationship still works... Constant communication and assurance are the keys, I guess...
