I was wondering how to use a curling iron...
how long till it gets hot, how much hair to do at 1 time, use hair spray after it??, do it after you wash and dry your hair?

Depends on the curling iron. A gold curling iron usually heats up in 2 minutes. It also depends on the size of the curls you want. If you want smaller curls, use about a 1/4 inch section of your hair. Start at the top, run it down your hair as if you were straightening it, then curl it up to your scalp. Hold it for about 20 seconds, then let it fall. For bigger curls (Think Jessica Simpson) Use 2-3 inch sections and hold the curling iron for about a minute. Afterwards, it helps to use hairspray, but not too much to weigh it down. All of this works better if you have 2nd day hair, but no product in it (Wash your hair, let it go natural, sleep, wake up, do your hair) This works great on my hair. Hope this helps!

It's best if the hair is clean before curling but it's not a necessity. It does however need to be dry. The size of the section depends on the size of the curling iron you are using. The newer ceramic irons are wonderful. Wind the hair into the iron and be sure to pull all the way through the ends. Otherwise you will have what's called fishhook ends. Most people start with the tail of the hair in the iron and wind upwards from there but the proper way is to start at the scalp and work the iron, turning until the length of the hair has been worked into the iron. Keep the hair moving through the iron at all times so you don't scorch it. Use a lower heat setting if you are just learning or practice with a cold iron. You might also want to use some product on your hair designed for heat. Some good ones are Redken Hotsets and Chi Iron Guard. I hope this helped you. Good luck

1st of all, u should not curl ur hair. It damages ur hair a lot....... U dont have to spray ur hair after curling and alsways do it in dry hair. U have to take little hair at 1 time. Best of luck!!!!!!!!!
