i burned an image of a dvd movie in my hard drive...i have the image....now i want to put that image in a dvd...however when i went to do it it told me i needed more space because the file was like 8 gigs....so i am planning on getting a 8 g blank dvd...now......do u think i will be able to burn the image of a dvd in this blank dvd???

Actually, I do this alllllll the time. You need to download a free copy of DVD Shrink. It will shrink down the movie to a smaller size by allowing you to take out tings like foreign lang sub titles, or extras etc. It also compresses the file without losing any quality. Works for almost any movie, but Disney is getting pretty good at encoding.

If you run into a movie that you can't burn then download ANY DVD.

This will work best.

You can plan all you want but you wont find an 8 gig DVD blank unless you buy a dual layer DVD burner! Then the chances of it playing on anything other than the burner you burned it with are none and none! As far as Josh says, he forgets to mention you need a dual layer burner!

Yes you will need to get a blank Dual Layer DVD which has about 8GB on it.....or if you are burning a DVD use Nero or DVD Shrink...
