No God doesn't want the gov't to give money because then the gov't would think they are in control of it and then it wouldn't be a church of religion but just another corporate business. Thats why Jesus freaked when merchants turned the temple into a market place.
Thats why people tythe anyways.

No, because that would make them public institutions. Churches are private enterprises, meaning they can accept whoever they want and if the government is upset, they can't do a dang thing about it because it is private property.

No, they shouldn't, and they don't. Places of worship are non-profit organizations and don't pay taxes, and the government doesn't pay them anything. Separation of church and state.
