In India we say - "How much?" or "How much is it?"

To me, "How much does it cost?" only works if there's one item being discussed.
"How much is it?" is the only one of your choices I'd use in that situation, where "it" would be "the total price".
If I asked "How much do they cost?" or "How much are they?" I'd expect to hear all the individual prices. But I'd more likely use that if I were referring to something that I'd buy more than one of but pay by the piece (fruit for example or candies).

You could eliminate the problem by just asking "how much?" Or "how much for everything?" "How much do they cost?" is awkward, for some reason, but probably technically correct.

How much is it? Or 'What's the damage'? Is a more general and all encompassing question.
