Hii, My name is Jessica.
I have a few questions, but first I'd like to explain the situation to those of you who are willing to help and give suggestions....
I have just moved into this Apartment complex about 2 in half months ago, About a month in a half ago, A mexican family of 7 people moved downstairs right below me, At first I didn't associate with any of them, Then I met the young daughters that live there, they are 4 years of age, and the other is 8 years old. They have 3 cousins that live with them, None of them speak English out of the 7 of them, except their dad, and the two daughters. Their mom & cousins are learning to speak English every day. I hang out with their family every day of the week, and I teach one of their cousins how to speak English & He helps me speak Spanish. Well I have a huge, huge attraction to this guy, and I know he is attracted to me, But we just can't go into deep conversation because we only speak a certain amount of each others language...........

But I just don't know if it could ever work
out between us, because of the culture differences, as well as the languages........

My questions are.....
In your opinion,
Could it actually work between an American woman, And and Mexican man, Who can't yet speak each others language but soon will be able to.............?
Meeting him has really given me the motivation to speak Spanish.
Another question I have is...
Should I be learning spanish just for him?
Or should I be doing it for myself and my education more?
I have an absolute attraction to him...
I honestly feel like I've known him before,
He gives me a comfortable feeling...
A warm feeling,
I just want to know your opinions upon the subject.
Any suggestions would be great.

It all depends on you. Love is a universal language you don't need to say much to recognize it (my mom, for example, got picked up by a German guy and neither of them spoke a common language). Can an American and a Mexican have a relationship? Sure, the cultural difference is NOT that big (y'all neighbours after all). Furthermore, if he's young he'll eventually learn the American way (what's expected to say in social situations, how to talk to people, etc.) so you won't have much trouble... The only thing is maybe food (but then you guys eat lots of tacos and burritos, eh?). Should you learn some Spanish? I think that'll show him that you care about him, plus it can make you cute ("hey, how do you pronounce this word?" he'll teach you, you'll flush, all very inocent). And finally a good site to learn Spanish? mmm I have no idea. Maybe yahoo itself has something? have you tried Yahoo Mexico? Anyways, you can ask him to translate certain phrases or the sentence structure, etc. Bottom line: he'll learn plenty of English with you by his side, cultural differences are not that great (and he'll probably fit more into American culture as time goes by), and tried to learn a couple of sentences something like: "do you think I'm pretty?" hahaha Bye, good luck.
Ps. You're very pretty, he'll be a lucky guy. Just make sure he gets it. Sometimes guys think hot girls are not interested in them (i.e. me)

There are different ways to speak the language of love. Verbal.. that can be quite something. Body language... your body can say so much. Add some music made for love and the language of love is being spoken. I can speak the language of love, when I want to.

One of my best friends, Paisley (yes, that is her REAL name...lol) is an American woman....she didn't speak Spanish, AT ALL....then she met Edwin & after 5 yrs & 3 kids....Paisley speaks better Spanish then he does....They are so cute together....& yes, love is a universal language....
As far as sites go...I am not sure....maybe try the library...or if your still in school...see if your school offers a Spanish Class...they could help you learn Spanish too....BUT...be careful, sometimes the Spanish they teach isnt spoken by some Mexicans....there are differences in that culture also..I learned this the hard way....lol
Good Luck on your learning....& as far as learning it just for him....do it for the other reasons also.....your education...it will help in the job market later...ALOT of companies look for Bi Lingual which helps in todays society...I know just enough Spanish to get someone a room....I work in a Motel...so it helps....lol....but to ask me everyday questions..I am at a loss...Do it for yourself....

You should learn Spanish for yourself. But hey, if hes part of the deal, go for it. Try the Paso a Paso books or the book Enfoques. If you want to learn it fast, you need a mixed media. Start watching tv in Spanish, reading Spanish newspapers, and practicing.
Yeah as long as you could learn it might work out.
