I have an idea for a new kind of invention. tell me if the idea is illogical, improbabble or logical, possible.

IN the distant future, when we have mastered nuclear fission, we could build tunnels for a specific car; a nuclear powered car. In the car, nuclear fission is done and the energy is let loose from its back. The energy could take you to your destination across the planet in a matter of seconds or minutes, through the special made tunnels. Now, we can calculate exactly the amount of energy needed to reach your destination before hand, that way you will not end up in an undesired location. THe nuclear fission could be done in a big factory or in the car . That way, the energy comes out the end of the car, but you could do it with small or big . I hope i explained everything i needed to explain. comment if i need to add more information for you to make a decision about the invention.

To paraphrase from Back To The Future, "I'm sure that in 1985 you can buy plutonium in any store but it's not so readily available in 1955." It is well past 1985 and plutonium still cannot be bought at Store 24 and is not likely to be available even in the distant future for the average consumer. Fissionable materials are highly radioactive.
Having worked in the nuclear power industry I do not believe this form of travel is either probable or possible. Or logical. Hydrogen will be the fuel of the future. The speeds you would like to achieve are not possible even with a nuclear powered vehicle. Submarines use nuclear fuel and are slow. But it's fine to wonder about such things and try to improve upon what has already been done. Stay in school and discover your talents and keep an active imagination fed with new ideas.

Sorry. It won't work as you expect. Even if there was a form of energy that you could apply to a vehicle to propel it through tunnels in the earth, the acceleration would too great to survive.

The best way would be to simply use electrical fans to pump air out of the tunnel in front of the vehicle and into the tunnel in the rear and move the vehicle that way. Then the acceleration would be low and the destination easily programed into the destination computer.

;-D A fission burst at the start of the trip would melt the vehicle!

well, if the tunnel goes to an undesired location and you drive your car into it, it will probably lead to an undesired location.

basically you want to build a tunnel, put a car in it, strap a nuclear bomb on the end of car, blow it up, and have the car suddenly accelerated to the other side of the tunnel.

questions:
how do you stop the nuclear bomb from destroying the car?
how do you stop the car thats basically rocketing out the tunnel?
if the car survives, how would the passengers survive the 15+ g acceleration and deceleration?

well ... why would u want a car ... to go into space to distant planets ... a space ship sounds and looks better i think ... and u wont live that long to master fission ... plus fission cant be controlled in a car like space ... its too small ... plus where will u get the coolant for the fission ... it does give out xtreme heat which is cooled down and converterd ....
(heat is converted to elec.) but not a bad idea ... for a invention ...

I think you are referring to nuclear fusion. We've already got fission down pretty well. You had better study for a few years and
learn about how things work.

While it might be possible to build such a fast vehicle, the acceleration would be worse than going into orbit. You would get there, but probably have a brain hemorrhage.

what i'm trying to look forward to is the realization of the teleporting device..i think that would be better than the nuclear powered car..same scifi ideas..

yeah, it works, well it did in that sci-fi movie, and why would a movie lie?

but really i don't think it would have to be as complex as that, whats wrong with flying cars?
