help on this rifle?

I have German made rifle that has the markings are "Deutche Waffen-Und Munitions Fabriken Berline 1908" any help here

You didn't state whether your rifle was military or civilian manufacture, but what you probably have is a Mauser mod.'95 0r '98, manufactured around the turn of the century. Your best bet would be to call around to your local gun dealers and hopefully find a reputable one to help. If you can find one, he should have a copy of the Blue Book of Firearms, which could give you a market value as well as some history. Jane's Small Arms would be an immense help,as well.
The general translation of your rifle's markings is"German Weapon-And Munitions Fabrications, Berlin 1908. Both military and civilian weapons carried these inscriptions in one form or another.

Sounds like a Mauser, possibly a model '98 made in 1908. Mausers were the German battle rifle in both World Wars and are usually so well built they are safe enough to use modern ammo in. Mauser actions and their copies are still used to make high powered rifles, in fact, the highest powered rifles use Mauser receivers/bolts. The DWM indicates German manufacture. 1908 means it was probably a commercial hunting rifle or a military made for export. If it has a long stock, it's military. 8X57mm is what most were but it could have been rebareled to another caliber.

Probably a Brazilian Mauser. Model 1908, Most often in 7x57 mm. A fantastic firearm that can be rechambered to modern cartridges. Very accurate and very dependable bolt action rifle.

Great as they are but even nicer when rechambered and set in a modern monte carlo stock.
