He is an old substitute teacher from my high school, im 19; he is 25-30ish maybe, im not sure. We spoke when I went back to visit last week. He seemed interested, even said how sophisticated and grown up I looked. He used the word sophisticated at least 3 times...what if he is gay, I hope not. Anyway...well, he could be.

But ya...I want to go see him again, talk for a bit, then say.... Hey, if you ever want to get a cup of coffee...here. ::Hand him a note with name, phone number, email:: then was the hell away before I get shut down.

I love being forward and getting to the point, it bugs me when a person is too shy to get what they want. I want him, so im going to try. Will he be freaked out that an old student is hitting on him? Will he get mad? Or will he like it and take it as confidence rather then me being easy. Thank you so much for reading all this crap. I need help. Have a good night!

First, I have a thing for older men. I do know the age thing will be a problem at one point. Second, im going away to a university in a few months. I do not want to tie myself down, or be too sexually involved. Im just interested.

Sounds like a great plan. Teachers try to avoid hooking up with anything remotely resembling a student to avoid impropriety. Its forbidden fruit, so you'll have to put it in his face to get him to bite.

This is a strange situation. Make your move, but don't be expecting this to blossom into a serious long term relationship. First, the age difference will become a problem, if not now then over time. I dated a girl 8 years younger than me for 5 years. It was great ..... for a while. Then what she wanted all of the sudden changed. Now maybe I am jumping the gun on this because you are just wanting to see where it goes. By all means, explore.... but don't look to tie yourself down because this could end up bad for one or both of you.

having gone out for drinks with former students, it's not a big deal if there's only a couple (3-5) years difference. more than that and it gets a little weird. but if he's complimenting you, you're a shoe-in for this one. also, write the number on some paper there, that way if he's not interested he has a chance to let you down easy and quick, rather than waiting by the phone for a call that's never going to come...

go for it, tell him. you might be surprised. But take slow. find out who he really is before , he could be a dick! That's how my wife got me back in high school. I got a lengthy letter slipped into my locker from a girl i had never met or even noticed in the 3 month of the beginning of high school. I finally met her and Wow the girl of my dreams. We dated all through high school and got engaged a year after high school. We've been married 6yrs and together for almost 11yrs! I'm only 27!

I cannot say that I feel it is a good set up as many would use you for sex being put in the same boat. If anything he will be flattered so do what you want to as far as the rest goes, just be careful.

how much do you know him.
is he married and have kids?
i don't know the rules in your area but in some area, teachers are not allow to date someone from the same school, even former students.
talk to him first ask questions indirectly so you know if he single or not
