The sound of her silk skirt has stopped.
On the marble pavement, dust grows.
Her empty room is cold and still-
Fallen leaves are piled against the doors.
Longing for that lovely lady
How can I bring my aching heart to rest?
Han Wu-Ti 42 BC

Life does not cease to be funny when people die
anymore than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
Shaw

Be still, sad heart, and cease repining,
Behind the clouds the sun is shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all;
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
Longfellow

Death is not the greatest loss in life.
The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.
Norman Cousins

All to myself I think of you,
Think of the things we used to do,
Think of the things we used to say,
Think of every bygone day.
Sometimes I sigh, and sometimes I smile,
But I keep each olden, golden while
All to myself.
Wilbur Nesbit

Is death the final sleep?
No, it is the last final awakening.
Scott

First our pleasures die- and then
Our hopes, and then our fears- and when
They are dead, the debt is due
Dust claims dust- and we die, too.
Shelley

I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.
The Notebook

You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
David Harkins

These are not exactly quotes but I like them.

Don’t cry at my grave cause I won’t be there.
I’ll be in the breeze that ruffles your hair,
I’ll be in the sunshine I’ll be in the snow,
I’ll be in the places that we use to go.
I’ll be in your shadow and there in your dreams.
I’ll be in your greetings but not your goodbyes.
I’ll be in the reflection of your loving eyes.
I’ll always be with you and I’ll always care.
Don’t cry at my grave side cause I won’t be there.

HE also loved to fish.
“ I pray I may live until my dying day,
and when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray.
When I’m in the Lord’s great landing net
and peacefully asleep,
that I be judged big enough to keep.”

Do not go where the path may lead.
Go instead where there is no path
and Leave a trail.

Behold my kin as you pass by
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, soon you shall be
Prepare yourself to follow me.

ALL IS WELL

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything thing remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and broken continuity. What is this death but a negligible incident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you., for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well.

"Death is no more than a passing from one room to another. But there's a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room, I shall be able to see." - Helen Keller-
