Was Jesus crucified because he claimed to be the son of God? Is this proof that he was or proof that he believed he was?

Is the death of Jesus' disciples proof of his divinity? Or their conviction?

actually his return on the 3rd day was more proof than any other. Also his ascent to heaven. That sure did it for the apostles who hurried to spread the word all over the region.

the death of Jesus was proof of nothing, the proof was in his resurrection. Yes, I do believe the deaths of his disciples are proof of his divinity. They saw him first hand, and professed it until their deaths. Most of them were executed in horrible fashion because of what they claimed to see. They could have gotten out of these deaths by admitting they were lying, but they never denied him. If they were that willing to die such horrible deaths for something they believed, I have to believe it was either true, or they were crazy... But there were many other people that claimed the same thing, and many other people who died terrible deaths as a result. I can't believe there were that many crazy people in one area at the same time.

Jesus was in fact crucified becuase He claimed to be God's Son, of course He was, but the authorities back then had no other excuse. Remember that he rose again later.

Jesus recruited these people, and they followed Him, that proves a lot. He was called Rabbi and teacher when He worked as a carpenter. Jesus is the Son of God, no doubt.

His death is not proof of His divinity, His Resurrection is. The deaths of His disciples is strong evidence of their conviction but not necessarily proof.

a) The resurrection isn't the only miracle Jesus finished to instruct his divinity. healing the paralytic supported his declare to a god-like power to forgive sins (Mark 2:a million-eleven), How power over nature grow to be god-like (ie calming the hurricane Mark 4:35-40-one) and his power to heal the blind grow to be purely do-able by skill of God (John 9). Jesus for sure predicted human beings to comprehend who he grow to be according to his miracles (ie Mark 8:eleven the place Jesus is annoyed that the Pherisees asked for an indication right this moment after his feeding 4000 human beings) So the reason of the resurrection and exhibiting himself afterwards grow to be no longer purely to make unbelievers have self assurance. there are a number of angles to the resurrection that Paul, Peter and the author of Hebrews evaluate. Lee Strobel no longer withstanding. b) Why are there not greater extant archives of Jesus after the resurrection? the only (human) reason that we've the 4 gospels that we've is by technique of the fact human beings took the time to make copies and unfold them around during the roman empire. i think this attempt (and copying stuff properly took a number of attempt returned then) grow to be purely spent on the main finished archives of Jesus' existence, and those from the main solid aspects. The 4 gospels have been stored because of the fact what they mentioned grow to be attested to by skill of the human beings who have been there and observed it first hand. it may desire to be that human beings from that 500 wrote their debts. although, given the small style of any survivng archives from that element (religous or in any different case), it extremely is not astounding that purely those seen maximum needed survived the three hundred years of persecution, and then the descent of the Roman Empire into the dark a while.

No, His RESURRECTION is the proof.

Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4 And declared [to be] the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Well jesus's miracle is that he didnt die, or he did and rose from the dead, that was prroof of divinity. Proof of the resurecction is anoiother matter. It would be nice to have proof though wouldnt it? Why doesnt god come down and say, " hey its me,. im here, whats up. "

Well, considering there isn't even proof of his death, I'd say any logic base is a little flawed. I don't get where you are coming with here anyway...

Jesus' birth is a proof of his divinity because he was born of a virgin

NO, His resurection is proof. Many have died a horrid death like that, only God can ressurect Himself.
