this is true, that it would be the insoluable fiber. So if I ate 30 insoluable calories a day I could subtract 120 calories from my
daily total calories for the day. I would appreciate any help.

Yes, it is true, but it can be explained differently. Each gram of protein can essentially be eliminated from your daily intake of calories. So, add up all your calories, and subract the number of calories from fiber (4 x #grams) consumed that day. I would assure that you ease yourself into eating substantial amounts of fiber, as a drastic increase can give way to diarrhea. Thus, consume more water with every increase in fiber to avoid dehydration.
